About those microscope slide necklaces...

I read a thread where a few people said they'd like to attempt making some. HOW do you plan to attach the jump rings and other necessary hardware to the glass? I carefully read some instructions that were provided in a link, and it "appeared" that all hardware was placed on glass slide and taped over. Is that all, or did I miss another important step?
