?? About the New Sleeping Beauty DVD

So I went to BlockBuster last night and purchased it for 21.99.

Get home only to find that the version is Widescreen!!!

No where on the box did it indicate that OR did it say Blue Ray (I know on regular DVD players Blue Ray comes out widescreen)

So my question is, is this the way it is for everyone or did I get the wrong version in my box somehow???

HELLLPPP, the picture is about 7 inches high!!!

Any chance it's double sided? I haven't bought sleeping beauty yet, so I can't answer directly, but we have a batman DVD that is Widescreen on one side and full screen if you flip it over and play the other side.

I agree with MickeyMom. Double check. Sometimes the newer DVD's actually come with both formats. If the box didn't state Widescreen on the outside (usually across the top), it will most likely contain both. Let us know!

I even checked it this morning..honestly thinking that you know sometimes 5 minutes into the movie it goes from wide to full??

And I too checked the top and the ONLY thing it says is 50th Anniversary Special Edition...I will definatly check or maybe have my hubby check when he gets up...(he goes into work at 12pm)

Funny, my daughter (4) tells me "Mommy, its too small the fairies are mouse sized now!!! (out of the mouths of babes)

Most dvd's come in widescreen now. It's hard to find one that isn't, really. I love widescreen. There's so much you're missing with full screen, IMO.

My TV does not show widescreen well. Guess my 7 year old TV has to go bye bye...the picture is too small and too much black on the top and the bottom.

I think you'll find the DVD is only being released in Widescreen. All the info I can find about the DVD indicates that it won't be in fullscreen.

I think you'll find this becoming more common because TV's are going to the widescreen format. And just to note, regular DVD palyers won't play Blu-ray DVD's. You have to buy a Blu-ray player for those, currently running around $299.
