I was just trying to calculate this package......
But just a couple questions....
Is this based off of "double ADULT" occupancy?
So if it is me and my 14 yr old DD, she would have to be considered an adult?
Or would it be calculated one adult at $425 (5 nights/6 days) plus one Jr. at $209?
Then we would get MYW passes for 6 days.....is it the usual $35 charge for adding the hopper option?
Can we still add days and add the non-expire option?

If so.......I would just get a 10-day non-expire and probably just use 5 days now and the other 5 days next year.

So......I'm I right in calculating that for me and DD.....at a value for 5 nights.....
it would be $704 + tax ?? That would include the hopper for 6 days, value resort for 5 nights and the dining package??

If that's right.....almost too good to pass up..... is there a catch I am not seeing?

Thanks.

I came up with $910 for 5 nights value, 6 day hopper tickets (no pluses, expire in 14 days) plus dining.

I hope your #'s are right for your sake!!

I think you are right at $910 for 2 adults.....
I am using the prices for one adult (me) and one Jr. (DD)....
And that came to $704 plus tax (including the hopper option)....and then the dining plan for free.
is that right? :confused3

The "junior" park tickets are the same price as adults as is the dining.

If you are looking at some promotional add that prices it as so much per person based on double occupancy then add on juniors or child for an additional fee...I think how you are trying to add it up you are only paying for 1/2 of the room. They figure it by splitting the room cost between the two adults and then add on the minors with just park tickets. Not 100% sure but pretty sure.

Right....I know that....
They figure it by splitting the room cost between the two adults
Hence my question about having to have my DD figured as an adult because the prices are based on "double ADULT" occupancy......
I just wanted to know for sure how they are calculating it.
Thanks.

I think they try to market to look cheaper to lure us in, then get you to add on and add on. Even at $910 it is a good price, I do hope you and your daughter get to go. :sunny:

I am thinking about taking my 6 year old in September to get the free dining offer. My DH won't even consider it, so I might go without him. Anyway, going into the Disneyworld website, I am able to put in 1 adult and 1 child and for three nights/4 day MYW base ticket it comes to $615. For four nights/5 day MYW base ticket it is $715. So it does not have to be 2 adult occupancy. Hope this helps. :cool1:

I just booked the free dining package at ASMovies for August with just myself and my 11 and 7 yr old children. It came out to $811 for 3 nights/4 days, 4 base tickets (no hopping) and dining. I know my son is considered an "adult" for dining but not for room occupancy so I don't think you have to have 2 adults to book this offer.

Okay....
I've been sitting here playing online to see the quotes they are giving for my situation..... that is... one adult and one junior.
And they do charge as if the second person is an adult to figure out the room charge.
To book All Star at rack rate plus 2 - 6-day MYW with hopper option, it comes to $922 tax included.
Then when I ask for the quote online..... for myself and 14 yr old DD for the "Stay, Play and Dine" package which is resort, ticket and "dining free"
The quote is $904.
I haven't figured out why the $18 difference..... must be that "Mickey" way of calculating.... :confused3
So it isn't quite as good a deal as I hoped. figures to be a much better deal for a family of 3 or 4!
It would definitely work great if it were 2 adults and 1 junior! ::yes::

I will try my hand. They base the room cost on "double occupancy" (meaning 2 adults). But what that really means in the hotel business is "up to 2 adults." After 2 adults, any additional adults would cost more. So the room price for 1 adult is the SAME as the room price for 2 adults. If you brought another adult with you, your room cost would still be the same since your dd, although priced for tickets and dining as an adult, is not an adult.

HTH.

So basically......I kinda answered my own questions when I tried to get quotes online......
The way they are advertising it......when they say "from $506* per adult
based on adult double occupancy in a standard room
at Select Disney Moderate Resorts"
They mean that whether there are 2 adults or only one.... you will be charged the same price for the room.
So they calculate the price of the room......then add in the price of your tickets depending on the number and ages of the guests.

So.... Lizzybee..... the price of your room for 3 nights is $259 rack rate. Plus the prices of the tickets which is $395 (2 adult tickets and 1 child 3-9 ticket) So that equals $811 which you were charged.
But you get the dining for free! So if your kids eat a lot..... or you are planning character meals, etc... it will be a good deal! :goodvibes
Hope you have a GREAT TIME!!!
Looks like we will be waiting till spring..... or our usualy June trip!

I just priced it up for example:

ASsp 5 nights 6 days aug 21/26 w/free dining
room460.44 this includes taxes on ticket and room portion
tickets 5 day hopper w/expiration one adult one jr. 442
total 902.44 if preferred room +73.45

ASsp 5 nights 6 days same dates w/free dining
room still 474.86
tickets 10 day hoppers w/ no exp 664 tax is included in room charge thats the difference in room charge
total pkg 1138.86
but you would get 5 additional days park hopping for 236.44

might i suggest exchanging a 10 day hop w/no exp for an adult ap for the $63 difference if you are planning on going back within the 1 year. This will allow you to get the AP discounts on room/food where available on your trip. this will only work if it with the 1 year window of course.
