? about taking food on plane

I plan on going to the Main St bakery on my last day to get lots of goodies. Can I put them in my carry-on? Sorry I haven't flown in years.

Yes, you can take food. I always pack plenty of snacks. Just no gels or liquids through security.

I packed two small boxes in my carry on of fudge for family back home. Apparently according to the TSA friendly folks, it looks like liquid on their machine.
So after she dug through the bag, making a nice mess, she said "oh, fudge..."..re-ran the bag and said "you can put things back together now"...Gee, thanks..
So word of advice, put fudge in an easy place for them to get to.....I would have never packed it so well if I knew they were going to need to see it....

Good point!
I try to put all of my food items together in a grocery bag and then in my carry on, that way if they question any of it (for example, the foil wrapper of a granola bar) I can get to it very easily. Hasn't happened yet... but you never know.

Same thing happened to me. I had a small rolling duffel for a carry on and a plastic WDW bag that only had a couple of those square boxes you get when you get candy at Goofy's for my personal item. The stuffed rolling duffel went through fine, but they had to open both boxes of candy. Her response was, "Oh fudge again."

Yep, as soon as she saw the little Disney bag , she said "let me guess, Fudge?" She asked did I have any more, and I said No, but forgot that yes I did have another little box further down.....but they found that also.
Yea good thing they are clued into fudge in carry ons....but other things slip by???? Anywho.....I will always pack that stuff in my smaller carry tote/purse where I can get it easier this next time.....
