About resort reservations

Hi guys...we just got back from wdw on sunday we got to spend valentines day with the kids..to our surprise it was pretty busy....but as always we had a great time...now we are making plans on going on January 7th of 2013 (long long time to wait)...we are hoping to find less crowds and cooler weather...so i have 2 questions:

1. When do you think Disney will start opening those dates for resorts reservations and

2. When do you think they will release any specials or free meal plans offers for January?

I think you can book for January by calling. If I remember correctly, I seem to recall people saying you could book some 2013 dates by calling since they aren't available on the website yet. I think you will have a while to wait for January for free dining. We are still waiting for October 2013 free dining dates to be announced!!! We have a room discount pin and are planning to book with that and then change to free dining when it comes up.

yup, it was crowded -- we were there too. But that was totally not what we had seen the previous 4 years for that time.

You can book any time for the next 2 years by calling WDW -- you just can't book it online. If you book a room only reservation, they'll charge you the max rate for that room for the one night deposit, and then they'll adjust it when the rates for your dates are published. You can also change your room only res to a package or apply a discount if/when one comes out for your dates.
