I was just looking at the redwood creek attraction on the DL website and it says that there is a 42" height requirement. I have 2 dd's (one is 5yo and 42" and the other is 2 1/2 so she's only around 32"). I thought that they'd both be able to play in this area but with the height restriction only dd5 will be able to go into it. I know if she plays there that dd2 will want to go in too so now I don't know if we should go there at all. Any suggestions or info on this?

The restriction is for a rope zip line. There is plenty of things for the kids to do, a cave, trails and animal prints to discover. also go see the Brother Bear Show (if playing) its really cute, its in an outdoor area and has Koda and Kenai do a meet/greet after the show.

There is also a height requirement for the little rock climbing area and one of the slides, I believe. But still lots of other fun for little ones.

I had the same problem until DD grew a bit more :thumbsup2 There is an area near the cave that's perfect for smaller kids - curved rock slides, crawling tunnel, rocks for climbing, small rope ladder/net, and the cave & stream area for exploring. One of us would stay in that area and the other adult would follow DS around on the area for bigger kids. Even when DD was 3, she could maneuver the bigger rope nets and loved them. The only things she couldn't do were the rock wall and zip line. She was allowed on the big tunnels slides, but wouldn't go because they were dark - and she couldn't slide down with me.

The only other thing I thought of was that there are also rope bridges. No height requirement there, but your little one's little feet might be small to cross without a little bit of frustration. But, I do see many 'wee ones' playing in there so it may be a non issue. My kids could play in there for hours without blinking ;)

Thanks for all the info!! As long as there is something for my little one to do in there she will be happy. I just didn't want our older one going in there and then we'd have to wait for 1/2 hour or more till she was done. But since my young one can go to that makes it just fine! I'll just stay with her in the little play area and DH can go with our other one!! Thanks again!!

You will have fun. My kids love that area. We go often and it's a great place for them to run around and burn off energy. Sometimes we really need that after waiting in lines.

In DCA - across from the Grizzly River Run, near the park entrance to the Grand Californian Hotel.
