? About points and paying cash

We have 210 points at SSR, in 07 we would like to stay at either the Contemporary or Grand Floridian i would like to pay the difference in cash.
Do dvc members get a discount on the room rate,? When i called members services on friday she had no idea when 07 room rates come out ,wondering if any of you know? Another? when can i book this trip is still at the 7 month mark?

Not to sure if they have DVC discounted rooms...they do offer AP discounted rooms though. I think the best use of your points here would be to rent your points and get the cash and then pay for your stay. Trading points into non DVC resorts isn't that economical. From what I read this is the way most will travel on the DCL.

DVC members do not get room discounts at the CR or the GF (or any non-DVC resort).

If you are booking a non-DVC resort for points, you can do so 11 months prior to check out. No need to wait for the 7 month window to open. The 2007 charts for the DIsney Collection are out. There are links in this thread:

If you use points and pay cash, you will have a DVC reservation and a CRO reservation. They cannot link these two different reservations, but you can ask them to note one reservation number on the other. Then when you check in, ask them if you will be staying in the same room for the entire trip. You will have to use all points for some of you nights and all cash for the rest of your nights if you don't have enough points for the entire stay.

We've done this before. It just takes a little coordination when you make the reservations and when you check in. You will have to check out when one reservation ends and the other begins. You will have a new Key to the World for each part of your reservation.
