Hey everyone I know I'm pushing it by coming over here with the real traders :teeth: But I have a question and I know someone over here will know the answer.

Is it true that WDW has told the CMs not to trade any pins with anyone that were not bought from WDW ?
This statement is in the 2004 Unoffical Guide we just saw it today .IT also said that pins bought in the DS would not be traded anymore in the parks ( with the CM's)

Thanks everyone
Mishell ( From the CB ;) )

Man, I hope this is wrong. I was planning to pick up several pins on eBay and through www.cheappins.com so that we could do some big time trading. I hope someone here has an answer. Mickey

:( I hope not, I have a bunch of TDS pins I bought on sale to use for traders. I have a family trip in 2005 and enough pins for all my nieces & nephews too. I hope we are able to use them or I'll have to use them for party favors or something.

How in the world will they be able to tell where each pin was bought?

I looked at my pins and they are marked on the back of the pin . Kinda bums me out that no one has said " NO of course not" so I guess it might be true . I think I may have to post on the CB to see if anyone has come back and had this happen to them .

Wishing everyone a Tagged Day

I have not seen a post on any of the pin boards about this. I can not imagine a subject like this not getting MAJOR attention. I know the last time I was down there CM lanyards consisted of about 9-10 Disney Store pins and 2-3 non DS pins. Did not do much trading with CMs this past trip. Hoping things will be a little better in Sept.

Considering there haven't been any new DS pins, and probably won't be, this alone would make me surprised.
And like someone posted, then CM's would be expected to know the origin of of each pin. Not many traders can tell you the original release of most or all pins.

All things Disney are subject to change.
Remember when at DLR for around a year they wouldn't accept pins that were not a cloisonné or a cloisonné like finish?

I haven't heard anything about it. The official rules on the Disney web site state that any pin backstamped copyright Disney is tradeable in the parks. Disney store included. The only "catch" being that CM lanyards are full of DS pins right now, and they are only supposed to have one of a particular pin on there at a time.
