I helped someone set up an Excel spreadsheet and he paid me with a check. He mentioned that he dated it for Friday, no big deal. Out of courtesy, I didn't read the check until I was a good ways off the driveway and on my way back home. At that point I only looked at the amount and was pleased at what anmounted to about $11/hour for what I felt was not much of anything, but I knew he appreciated my help setting up the page.
So, I need to make a stop for milk and laundry detergent, pull out the check in the store's lighting, just to double check how he might have spelled my name. (It's often misspelled) He made the check payable to CASH!
Can I take his check made out to CASH to the bank and cash it? Who endorses the back, him or me? It's my boss' husband and I'm going to make mention of it tomorrow, asking whether I should return the check for a replacement or wait until payday for cash. Any advice?
