We are a party of 6, 3 adults, 2 DD5 and one infant. When making reservations should I make it for 6 even though one is an infant? Will they still charge the automatic gratuity when really only 5 are eating?
You'll have to make them for 6, babies count towards the restaurants capacity limits. As far as the automatic gratuity, from what i've read on here you will be charged the 18% since there will be 6 people at your table.
yep, have to count the infant when you book (they need to count # people in room for capacity --fire regulations) and also because the infant and/or infant equipment like stroller or high chair or infant seat or oversized diaper bag takes up space. They'll put you at a table for 6 in order to allow space for the infant's extra stuff. If the baby sits in a high chair, that would have to be in the space of the 6th chair (Disney tables are very close together, you couldn't just tuck a high chair or stroller on the end...would have to go in the space that had been a chair at the table.)
As for the gratuity question, the answer is yes, a party of 6 is a party of 6 regardless of age...and just an FYI: the moderators do not allow tipping questions/discussion except on the official Tipping thread (they will lock threads with discussions of tipping)...you may find more info here about your question
