??? about party checking in at different times..

I am throwing the idea around that maybe our daughter, youngest son and I will go down a day ahead of my dh and older son. How does that work if I check in a day before with part of our party and then dh comes in the next evening with high school son and his friend?? This is of course if we can add a day to the beginning of our trip. I am guessing that they will issue me all key cards when I check in????Thanks

You should get all the room keys when you check in. The front desk assumes that everyone will be there for the entire length of stay.

The only issue I would see is if you are purchasing the DDP. My understanding is that you would have to pay for all occupants for the entire stay (even if some show up later).

Aside from that, it should be no problem at all.

As we have done this before and faced issue of first to arrive might not be at resort when others arrive, what you can do is check in all persons when you arrive but can leave card keys for later arrivers with the front desk and they can just pick them up when they arrive. Your late arrivers just need to know whose name the room is in and it can be helpful to inform them of room number once you get it. They will of course need IDs to get the key cards that are in their names

I've often come earlier than DH and depending on the time he's coming, I leave his key at the front desk, so this does work!
