Going to WDW with DH and sister in law. We all have park passes set. DH will be golfing 3 days and I'm wondering how the park pass thing is going to work. Our usual way of touring is go to the park early, (that's what sister in law and I will do) back to resort for a little R&R then back to parks for supper and nighttime activities. DH will probably meet us back at the resort for lunch.

If we go (park hop) to another park at night, will DH have to go to the initial park that we went to in the am before he can go with us at night.

TIA

yes he will. You have to scan into your first park before you hop.

if you know for sure that you will switch parks and he won't join before hopping I would make his reservations for the park you will be hopping to and don't pay for a park hopper
For him.

@LoveMickey, I agree with this 100%.

He has an annual pass, so the park hopping thing is not and issue for cost savings. Can you change your park reservations the day of?

Thanks for all this info.

Yes, you can change park reservations the day of, depending on availability, of course. There have been just a few days when short-term or day-of availability was slim to none for some parks.

Yes... but as of now you have to cancel the original and re-book the new park if available.

If your plans are pretty firm then I would book DH for the 2nd park (as mentioned above). If you generally play things by ear as far as the 2nd park then I would just book him with the rest of the party and then change his park if you can.

Worst case is he has to tap into the first park if for some reason park reservations are sold out. He can detour after golf or detour on his way to the 2nd park :)

You can change your park reservation, or make a park reservation day of, subject to availability. If you're hopping into Epcot for the fireworks, that's probably no problem to do on the fly. Offpeak weekday last week, MK park reservations did fill up mid-day. They had signs in the MK entrance saying no more park reservations available.

Thank you all for the information. We are the kind of fly by for the parks at night. Usually Epcot for the fireworks. We will have to see how it goes. He won't be playing golf on the MK or AK days, that would be tough if we had to go to either of those just to tap in. Wish us luck. :-)
