This will be our first time to fly. :scared1: We are flying SW. I am trying to cut back on $$$ for snacks at WDW. I have purchased small bags of chips, miniature candy bars, and some 12oz. soft drinks. I have placed the candy and chips in a shoe box inside the luggage so they will not get crushed during the trip.

My question is.... I have placed 3 soft drinks in a gallon ziploc bag and then placed that in another gallon ziploc bag ((so the drinks are double bagged.)) :) I have a total of 12 drinks and I plan to place 1 bag in each of our checked luggage. We will have 4 pieces of luggage. Is this allowed or will they go through my luggage and take them out? :confused3

Someone please HELP!!!

They are legal in your checked luggage only. I would be more concerned about the weight of your luggage. Weigh it before leaving to make sure you aren't charged with overweight fees. How long is your trip? Would you be better off using a grocery delivery service and have them deliver snacks, breakfast items, water and soft drinks.

Yep, and also just think about what happens if they rupture or come open? I know you are 'double bagging' them, but think about where they are going to be. In an airplane, getting handled not the nicest, stacked under other luggage etc etc. If one happens to rupture, you then will have a jagged piece of metal in your bag. Will it poke holes in the ziplocs? Will you have drink soaked clothes?

I would order, as stated, from a delivery service and pay the 12 bucks or whatever they charge for the fee..

Since I have already purchased the snacks.... Can I just mail them to CBR instead?

Yep!!
Check the wdwinfo.com site, and they should have the resort address listed. Put your name as a c/o on the label, and your date of arrival. I also put my reservation # on it, some people say not to for some reason, but doesnt seem to be a big deal to me.

Send it via UPS or FED-EX, not postal service.

Keep in mind that most cargo holds are not pressurized or temperature controlled, at least to the same degree as the cabin. Don't be surprised if they rupture because of pressure differences, or freeze and then burst. Snacks are OK, but no way would I pack sodas.

How are you getting from MCO to WDW? If taking a car, just stop on the way. Some taxi's will even wait for you.

Do you really save anything by the time you purchase a 12-pack and then pay to have it shipped?

(Are you staying at a WDW resort? If so, I would just buy a refillable cup. I think they cost about $12 but you can have them filled as often as you like at the resort where they were purchased. )
