?? about Laundry Services at AKL

I know there is not a washer and dryer in a studio, however I read somewhere once that DVC members will get free laundry. Is this true?? I cannot find that thread again. Thanks in advance for your help!!

Someone who has actually stayed at AKV will have to tell you where specifically for that resort, but there are laundry rooms at all the DVC resorts. At SSR they are located near each pool.

The washers and dryers have coin validators on them like other commercial machines you'd see at a laundromat, but they don't require any coins to push them in.

Yes there is a laundry room just for DVC guest. It's on the 5th floor at the start of the Zebra trail. There is also a trash room close by.

The room has 2 washers (1 front loader and 1 top loader) and 4 dryers. All free. There is a phone and a TV with a couple of chairs and a folding counter.

I used it a few times during our last stay.

this is near the steps going down to the lobby.

it is definitely there!!!

there is a trash room nearby and also one across from the elevators - further down the hall.

so my guess is there a laundry room near the lobby not matter where you are.

now there is NO ice machine - you must go down to the 4th floor for ice.

also you will need your key at the laundry room - it is key entry only. (I guess to kept the AKL guest from using it)

There is an ice machine in the middle of the Ostrich trail on the 5th floor. How strange they are not elsewhere on the 5th floor.

Maybe they have it there because there are non-DVC rooms there that face the parking lot.

It's there. I checked it out a couple weeks back.

As most folks are telling you, it is at the lobby end of Zebra trail. You'll need your room key to get in, as the door is locked (I assume to prevent non-DVC guests from using it) and you'll need to swipe your key to get in.

From other guests reports, who did NOT find the place, it seems that CM knowledge about it's location (and it's existence) is spotty, at best.

There is no cost to use the machines but you do have to pay for the detergent or bring your own from home.
