I read one review of the illuminations cruise and a woman complained that is was often too smokey to see. I would really like to do this but a lot of the people in my party have asthma and I wouldn't want to pay that much and have to stare watery eyed through smoke to see the show. How is the view and the smoke?

It really just depends on which way the wind is blowing I think!

We took this cruise a few years ago, by the end of the show there was a lot of smoke and even though it was nightime, I had to put my sunglasses on to keep debris out of my contacts!

The smoke was not overwhelming, but it did come mostly our direction that evening. I still really enjoyed the experience!

We went on our first Illuminations cruise in Feb. . . the smoke came in our direction the whole time. . .DS needed to rinse out his eyes from a piece of debris. . .DH was coughing rest of night. . other 2 DS complained whole time about smoke. . the driver was so nice. . .said that this happens sometimes. . .but our reaction to the smoke was bad enough that she took us immediately back to the docks while the rest of the boats continued their night. . .the fireworks were really cool. . If only the smoke wasn't in our eyes. . .Oh well. . .

We, too, had the smoke blowing in our direction during our March '02 cruise. Debris was flying into our eyes. It's just one of those things you can't predict. We still enjoyed it, but if there is even a remote possibility that the smoke could really affect someone in your group, I would play it safe and pass. Maybe check into a MK fireworks cruise. I haven't been on one, but I would imagine that there wouldn't be as much of a problem with the smoke.

We did the fireworks cruise on May the 6th. And there was no smoke issue what so ever, And a little bonus, after the fire works we got to see the entire electrical water pagent, music and all. we loved it.:smooth:

I was concerned about smoke before we took our Illuminations Cruise last October. The winds were very kind to us. It was perfect--the only smoke was at the very end of the show, when all the fireworks have been shot and everyone is leaving. No problem for us.

We did the Illuminations Cruise on March 5th, and I don't remember any smoke at all. I guess it just depends on the wind.
