I know no one can tell me for sure, but in your experience, how long does it usually take to get to your hotel?

I'm flying into John Wayne at 1:10 pm, will have to pick up one bag, and hope to get into the park on Friday Nov 5 by 3:45. Is this doable or am a setting myself up for dissapointment? I'm using ridemax (I think I've made about a thousand plans so far!) and so I have to set a start time.

thanks!

Probably about one hour. They will circle around the airport until they have a full van.

So much depends on how many passengers they have in the van and where they are being dropped off. It's normally about a 10-15 minute drive at best, but accounting for all the waiting and other droppings off, I'd say an hour is a good bet.

Keep in mind that checking into the hotel may be a long process, depending on whether your room is ready or not. You could just drop your bags at the front desk and go, but if you were expecting to actually get into your room first, the DLR hotels can take FOREVER sometimes to have a room ready. Other times, I've had no trouble at all. It just depends on the crowds and the maid service, etc.

I think you COULD make it by 3:45 if everything aligns well, but I'd have an alternate plan just in case!

COMPLETELY doable. Don't even worry about it.

You will definitely be in the park by then. We just did this and our plane landed at 8:40am and we took the shuttle to the hojo went to our hotel checked into our room, changed our clothes, packed up our backpack, walked to the park and made it in the park by 9:45am.

They do not circle to fill up the van at John Wayne. You will walk out and your assigned van is waiting for you. We have done this many times with Supershuttle. Have fun!

Ditto to what everyone else said. I have never had to wait more than 10 minutes for a van to fill up and it usually takes about 20 minutes for us to be dropped off at HoJo. I believe PPH is usually one of the last stops that they make when dropping guests off in the DLR area but 2.5 hours should give you plenty of time to get to the parks. Have a wonderful trip! :goodvibes

We drove around the airport at least 3 times to try and fill our van. We are a party of 5. I was not happy and felt sick smelling all the fumes (windows down) by the time we were done. Never again!!

Disneymum are you sure you weren't at LAX or a different airport? SNA is a very small airport and I have never seen them drive around because there aren't a bunch of different exits...? At LAX it does take quite a bit longer.

Yea...I've never had to drive around SNA either. I believe there is only one Super Shuttle stop at the John Wayne Airport but correct me if I am wrong...

I've usually gotten right on a van and had only a short wait, as others have said. I've never had to drive around the airport...can't really see what that would gain the driver at SNA? He'd just have to come back to the same spot anyway.

I once had the trip take about 15 minutes longer, as we had to drop someone off at a residence in Anaheim Hills. 99% of the time I get to DLR within 1/2 hour of getting to the shuttle stop, though.
