What time does the security check point open if the park opens at 8am and early entry is 7am?

What time do the turnstiles open to line up for rope drop?
Where exactly is rope drop? Is there a map of what the perimeter is?

For people that have the early entry (I don't) is there no rope drop on those days since the early entry people are already in the park? Do you just wait until 8am and then get let it?

When there is no early entry in DL what time should you show up so you are not in a huge line to get in?

For days that have the early entry into DL are there separate lines for people that go in a hour early or is everyone mixed up?

From my experience, rope drop is at the Hub on a normal day (and maybe on a day with early entrance to DL).

And when people without access come in an hour later, they have ropes strung at the entrances to each land. So when we arrived towards the end of whatever they were calling it at the time we weren't using it, we wanted to hit Indy first, so we were at the rope for Adventureland.


The gates at DL have signs that can be changed, so you want to look for the ones that indicate or don't indicate early entry, whichever one you're looking for.


I would imagine bag check would open around 6 for a 7am start to the park day. If no one is there when you get there, just stay outside the esplanade. Once they arrive to open bag check everyone inside will be called back outside, and they will get to join the line of people who didn't go inside.

It's been my experience that if early entry is at 7, then the security check will open at 6:30!

6:45 or so has been our experience. It varies by the day, as they open security check when they get the go ahead from the park crews.

So in order to get that full early hour for those who have it, all those people have to be checked by security and through the turnstiles in 15 min?! That seems crazy. What time do people usually start arriving?

One of the days I will need to be in the park by 8:10am on a 9am opening day because I have a reservation at the Plaza so I am wondering how much time I will need to be able to get there on time.

So, when there is no early entry and it opens at 8am, what time do they start letting people through the turnstiles to go stand by the ropes?

Sorry for all the questions, it is just so confusing. I like to plan so it kinda drives me crazy to not know. haha

Our experience has been 0630 for security to open when EE is at 0700. It very quick if you have no bags or a stroller full of stuff.

Understand that the same security serves both DL and DCA. And there is EMH early entry every day. So if DL does not have EMH that day, then security will open roughly 90 minutes before the DL gates open and 30 minutes before DCA EMH starts.

We got there an hour early and were the first in line... for a few minutes.
