We have booked tickets to see Hoop dee Doo at 4:00. We're staying at Windsor Hills. How long should we allow to get there? Also, I've heard that the show is quite a ways into the campground, so once we get there and park, where do we go?

Also, I've heard there's quite a few fun activities there, so would it be worth coming early to check some of those out, or staying for awhile after the show? What sort of things are there? And how late do they go?

Fort Wilderness does have a lot to see and do, It will take approximately the same amount of time to get to Ft Wilderness from Windsor Hills as it takes to get to the Magic Kingdom 15 min or so?
You will be able to park at fort wilderness then take the internal bus to the hoop de do. Im sure the security guard at the front will tell you where to park, then there are bus maps.

The Parking Lot is right near the entrance to Fort Wilderness at the front of the campground. From there you take an internal bus to Pioneer Hall, the home of the HDDR, which is all the way at the back of the campground. I would allow about 1/2 hour after parking.
There is a nice playground right near Pioneer Hall for the kids. There are also barns where the Magic Kingdom horses live. There are Carriage Rides as well as a movie and sing along with Chip and Dale. There is lots to do at FW/

Here is the FW fact sheet. It has info on the activities, transportation and a map.

Lots to do there. As others have said you park at the front of the campground and then board and internal bus for the Settlement/PH area.

Most of the activities are in the Settlement or Meadow trading post areas.
Canoeing, biking, horseback riding, petting zoo, Tri Circle D stables (where the Disney horses live), walking trails, hayrides and campfire/movie with Chip & Dale.

Another option would be to park at the MK main parking lot (TTC), and then take the monorail or boat over to the MK, and then hop on the boat to FW. The boat will drop you off right at Pioneer Hall. To me, that would be more interesting than taking the bus around FW.

Another option would be to park at WL and just take the boat from their launch to FW. That is probably the quickest option of all.

I would assume that this, more complicated, route, would probably take longer than just going to the campground.

But, if you're planning on heading to MK after your show, then it will save you from having to leave the show, go back to your car, then move the car to MK.

Yeah, no, we won't do that. It's a neat route, but it would cost us an extra $17 in parking, and we won't be doing any parks that day.
