Hi! I'm new here and not sure if this is where this question should be, but here goes. I live in ohio and am traveling to visit my nieces and nephews who live in Florida. Here is my question: Can my nieces and nephews get Florida resident tickets? I already have my pass and my daughter is only 2 and does not need one. My brother and sister are not going because they have to work. How do I activate their tickets?:goodvibes

These are the official rules:

Florida Resident tickets are only available to actual Florida Residents and cannot be purchased for out-of-state family or friends.

An adult Florida Resident may purchase Florida Resident media for more than one Florida Resident from any location that provides an exchange certificate and not an actual ticket.

Children under the age of 18 are not required to provide proof of Florida residency if they are accompanied by an adult with valid proof of Florida residency

If the Guest has an exchange certificate, a valid form of Florida ID will be required when the exchange certificate is redeemed for the actual pass

One ticket only per valid proof of Florida residence (a Florida resident may buy tickets for minors in the party)

Exchange Certificates may say:

"After sale..., may not be transferred except as a gift." This means that the certificate may be given as a gift, so long as the recipient meets the defined Florida residency criteria.

"Purchase and redemption of this exchange certificate requires proof of Florida Residency."

The following items are the only documents accepted as proof of Florida Residency:
* Valid Florida State Drivers License
* Valid Florida State issued ID Card with Florida Address
* Valid Florida Voter’s Registration Card with the Guest's name and address with corresponding photo ID
* Valid Florida University / College Student ID
* Valid Military ID stationed at one of the Florida Military Bases listed below:
(List of bases removed as unneeded)

How far away does your family live from Disney?? Because even if their parent's tried to buy a ticket over the phone or something, they'd only receive a voucher that would have to be turned into guest relations and shown with proof of residency.

Do the kids have school ID's?? That's accepted as proof of residency... but it's mostly applied for college kids here, I don't know how that works for minors.

Would the parents be able to stop by Disney to purchase the tickets before hand?
If they did that, had the kids names on the tickets and also have the parents bring the kids by the Florida DMV and get a state ID card? I would think that would be proof enough

okay, I talked to my sister and she said she is willing to drive over and activate their tickets. Does my brother need to activate his kids tickets? Can she do this at the hotel or only at a park gate? She does not want to go to the park with us is it okay that she not have a tickets? Sorry, I have so many questions! I haven't seen them in so long and just want to make this a trip they will remember.:goodvibes

I think they only need to purchase the tickets at any of the parks or DTD.

I don't think you want to activate the tickets-are they AP? If not, then the tickets start to expire unless you have the non-expiring option added.

There is nothing to activate, but a parent has to prove their residency, as we did this over Christmas. :thumbsup2 We went to DTD to Guest Relations. My BiL was purchasing tickets for he and my 2 kids. (BiL=Ohio; kids=FL) My hubby proved we are FL residents and the kids were able to get FL rates and my BiL bought all the tickets...

Hope this helps!
