Hello,

I would like to try Flame Tree for lunch on our AK day but we aren't baked bean fans:sad2: I'm guessing you can't sub the beans for fries.

I was wondering if a basket of fries would be big enough for 4 adults to share. Would I be able to use a snack credit for that or should I plan on paying OOP?

Thanks,
Terri
:dance3:

OOP, the fries and onion rings haven't been snack options for a while here. One order should suffice for 4 people unless someone wants to make a meal of the fries.

Since the meal comes with beans and cole slaw, they MIGHT sub an extra cole slaw for the beans if you want. Really depends on the CM that day.

Thanks!
OOP it is:goodvibes At least I will know what to expect when I order.

Am I the only one who misses Tusker House as a QS?

I just returned from WDW a week ago today. Flame Tree was closed, and its prior location was hidden behind a wall. I don't recall when it is supposed to reopen or if it even said so on the wall.

We will be there Nov 21-26. Hopefully it will be open but if not Pizzafari is our plan B.

When I was at Animal Kingdom last week (either Monday or Tuesday) they were having the ribbon cutting ceremony to officially re-open Flame Tree.

did they get rid of the annoying birds in the seating areas? they make the place unbearable (even though we like the food)

We ate at Flame Tree last week on either the day it re-opened or the day after. It was excellent.

And boy do I ever miss Tusker House as counter service! They had excellent meals. Rotisserie chicken, salmon, etc. I was really bummed when it turned into a buffet.

My son loved the birds although he was scared to death of them. He sat on my lap the whole meal and made me say "shoo bird shoo" over and over again while he laughed hysterically at me for it.

It was a little bit of a hassle but it was entertaining for my son. In fact he talked about those birds for months after the trip.

I have a bittersweet feeling about the birds. I loved how he enjoyed them so much but it would be nice to eat a meal where I dont have to hold my son the whole time. LOL

Flame Tree was back open at least as of last Monday 9/21. Even one of our party was surprised, as she had read that it was closed for refurb. Maybe that was opening day. Too bad we ended up eating at Pizzafari anyway, sigh. (It was right after we were in Festival of Lion King, so it was right there....)

Help me! Are the beans "pork & beans" or "ranch style beans"? I hate ranch style beans. So does DD. If I'm going to talk the family into going there, this is vital info. Also, does the half chicken meal (DH would get that) come with coleslaw along with the beans? Thanks! :thumbsup2

We ate at Flametree last Friday and I was able to sub coleslaw for the baked beans.

I am confused. Does the meal come with coleslaw AND beans, meaning you had a double order of coleslaw? Or does it only come with beans, and you substituted coleslaw for that? :confused3

Also, if anyone can help with the "Are they ranch style beans or pork & beans" question, I'd appreciate it! :)

It think it was supposed to come with coleslaw, but because it was put in as a side the coleslaw did not come on the sandwich..only as my side. Not sure though. Also, not sure on the style of beans. sorry.

The ribs and chicken each came with 1 slaw and 1 bean in January and you could get two slaws or 2 beans if you wanted but could not substitute fries for either. I have no idea what ranch beans are so I can't help with that one

People need to stop feeding them. Then they won't be so persistent (they're wild birds, after all -- you can't blame them!).
