Does anyone know what time the counters open at major airports? :confused3

We have a 7:00 am flight out of Philly to Disney and aren't sure when to arrive. We usually like to be there 2 hours early, but will anything be open? Is 6:00 am okay or before that? We are flying on Southwest and want to pick our seats, but should be able to print our boarding passes the night before.

Can we check them with a skycap? Is there a fee/or tip? Is this a safe option? My Mom's bag always somehow never appears with the rest of the luggage! :teeth:

Can anyone help relieve our pre-Disney stress? I know once we're in the Happiest Place on Earth, all will be fine. But until then ... help! :goodvibes

Thanks in advance!

:hourglass = 32 days and countin'!!!

We will be on a 6:15 flight out of LGA next Friday (we always take that flight to Orlando). We'll arrive at LGA around 4:30AM and use the e-ticket kiosks for check-in.

A few weeks ago we were on a 7:AM out of JFK and when we arrived at 5:AM the kiosks machines were not yet operating. A sign said they would start ay 5:15 and that's exactly what happened.

Don't worry...if there are flights leaving that early, you'll be able to check your bags 90-120 minutes before the flight!

You should be able to call the airline and ask them when their counters or kiosks open.

One year I got on an airport shuttle from Anaheim and got to LAX at 5 am for a 7 am international flight. Arggh, the airline counter wasn't open yet and wasn't going to be open for another hour. (I could have slept in!!) I was kinda pissed off (combination of waking up so early and having to leave the "Happiest Place on Earth"!)

You should be able to find the information about what time the ticket counter opens by checking the Southwest site or whatever airline you are flying. It should also have the time the curbside check in opens. You might want to get there before that because many people will be lining up for when it opens.

The SW counter will be open. I checked in for a 7:00 am flight in Philly at about 5:15 am last August and there were some folks ahead of me (as it turned out, a whole family), but no one else but me in line.

we were on that same flight last 2 weeks ago (7am from Philly)...checked in at the desk at 5:20...no wait...boarding card "A"....had breakfast at the gate...very smooth

if you use the curb check-in you should tip/bag, but that it to save the wait time from inside and there really shouldn't be any at that hour....

have fun...by the way we were in the parks by 10:30...limo from airport, quick grocery stop, monorail from Poly ...priceless!!!

Thanks everybody!

We were beginning to worry what we should do. We don't want to be there too early or too late. Your experiences help!

We too have a lot planned for the first day. Hopefully, Magical Express will work really well and we can get to Disney quickly too!

Thanks again!
