? about Disney Store in NYC

Do they have a large selection of pins? We are going to NYC around the holidays and I was thinking of buying my kids Disney Store gift certificates for Christmas, but I wasn't sure if they would use them on anything other than the pins. Also, do they carry the vinylmation figures? We don't have a Disney Store around us anymore so I didn't know what they have these days.

Last time I was there in August, the pin section was right up front and pretty good. There are lots of NYC specific pins like Minnie as the Statue of Liberty, Mickey in a Yankees uniform, etc. They also had the Vinylmation figurines.

It's a cool store, but always mobbed!

The World of Disney Store is scheduled to close at the end of this year. This might mean they will have reduced inventories in anticipation of closing, so you might want to rethink gift cards that people will have trouble spending...

Are they really closing? Where did you see this? I don't want to buy gift cards if the store won't be open when we get there.

On no! They're closing? We are also planning a NYC trip over Christmas holidays. We were there last summer and the store is super cool!! The kids loved their special NYC Disney pins they bought and loved meeting NYC firefighter Donald and Goofy. Will they be open till the very end of 2009?

That's really too bad. Our store closed last year and I was looking forward to going to the one in NYC. I hope it's still open when we go! Thanks for the info!
