I was recently approved for the Disney Premier Visa card and charged our upcoming vacation package to it in full. I understand that the 0% offer is only for charges toward your vacation package. Here's my question:

We really want to use the card while in the park to make purchases so we get the rewards points for them, but if we charge for souvenirs, food, etc... would I then have to pay the entire balance of the card off on the next statement so that we wouldn't be charged interest? Or could I just pay the minimum balance, plus all non-vacation package charges and still be ok? I hope this makes sense, I had trouble wording it!

You can make additional purchases with the card and not have to pay off the full balance in order to avoid paying interest. Banks now have to apply your payments to the highest APR balance first before applying it to other balances. So, if you charge $100-worth of souvenirs on your card while carrying a 0% promotional balance and then pay $100 when the bill is due, you will be fine as long as that $100 is larger than the minimum payment due.

One thing that you want to avoid is making additional payments during the billing cycle when you've just made purchases with the card unless it's your intention to have that payment go toward your promotional balance (your vacation package) . Banks do not have to apply your mid-cycle payments to new purchases.

This is exactly the information I needed. Thank you!!
