Ok,
BE NICE!
This may sound stupid, but I can't find the answer anywhere!

I will be cruisin w/ my wife and two boys, ages 14 and 8.

My wife and I want to eat at Palo's one eve.

Does the kid's club, teen club feed the kids dinner?

Can the boys eat together in the dinning room w/ out parents?

Do I need to eat at 6:00pm at Palo's, so I can take the kid's to dinner at 8:00PM?
HEY, Help out a guy who's wife asks a 1,000 questions!
Thanks
Doug:confused:

Ok, either of the above scenarios are good ones. The kids are fed in the clubs, or you can have the older escort the younger to dinner that evening, whatever you feel best doing. Just make sure your servers are aware it'll just be the kids that dinner :) Either way, no worries going to Palo's.

Hi! We are on the same cruise as you. Our boys are 12 & 14. I am going to try to get a Palo reservation early enough so we can still go to our dining rotation with our kids. I figure DH and I can just get a drink while the boys eat, maybe have dessert with them. If I can't get an early enough time, I thought I would just let them either get pizza or a hot dog before we go to dinner. Room service is another option. Hopefully there will be a movie or show they can scoot off to while we are at dinner.

See you on April 10!:boat:

Yes, and if they're like my kids, your kids will enjoy it immensely, and your servers will take great care of them. At 14 and 8, your boys are certainly old enough.

Just book your Palo reservation at the same time as your regular dinner seating.

You'll still be able to enjoy the show in the Walt Disney Theatre as a family.

We are also on that cruise, and tonight at dinner we were throwing around the logistics of going to Palos. Our 2 boys will be just one month shy of 11 and 9. Maybe we will all be at Palo's together and the boys can keep each other company!

This is our first cruise, so does anyone have any strategy for picking their Palo night? Are there certain nights during the rotation that we really shouldn't miss being in the dining room with the kids?

Any of the above. The club and lab take the kids to dinner at specified times (which are noted in the kid's navigator.) The kids can also go to dinner on their own or order room service on their own...or go to the topsider's buffet on their own...or get pizza or burgers on deck 9 on their own. OR, you can take them to early dinner and then go to Palo later.

There are lots of options....you just need to decide which you want. The Stack/Common Grounds will not take the 14 year old to dinner. He can eat at Topsiders (which is where the club/lab kids eat), but not sit in their section....or use any of the other options. Your servers will be lovely about supervising older kids in the dining room--just mention it the night before. That might be a treat for the kids.

We booked Palo the third night and by that time, the servers knew the kids so well, the kids went on to dinner without us and we met up after dinner. Having the servers go from place to place with you lets the kids feel like they know who wil be "Taking care of them" even though they would deny needing it! We ended up having a table with kids from 5-14 eating on their own.

Hi mouseclick1, Goodeguys, & dtheboys(Doug),

I thought I would throw in my 2 cents. Yes, Doug all of your options will work, it just depends on what you want to do. We have decided to send our 8yo to the club and let the 2 older ones do for themselves. (Mainly because the 8yo will drive her older sister crazy.)

Goodeguys - picking a night for Palo is difficult. The things I did was look at the menus for each dinning room (you can see them at www.castawayclub.com) and decide which ones I could do without. I would say the 2 not to be missed are the first night in Amimator's Palette (the show is shown only on this night) and Mexicalifragalistic night which will be on Wednesday. What I did was write down each dinning rotation for the week and cross off the days I did not want to miss and then I chose my nights for Palo. On the cruise I could not book Palo in advance I just took this list with me and as soon as I found out what dinning rotation I had, that was the list I went with. Because we are in a suite I could choose my dinning rotation and book Palo in advance. I chose APLA rotation and we are dinning in Palo on Sun and Tue. The other thing to remember is if you should choose Friday please let your server know and make sure they get their tips. Some people will skip dinner in Friday night so that they do not have to tip.

If anyone has more questions please ask away. I am not expert but I read these boards a lot and can answer most things. If not, I know many other DISers who can.

Mouseclick,
As long as I don't have to cook for or clean up after that table of 6 boys, it is fine with me!!! That image will stay with me all day...

Leilani,
Thanks, as usual, for your terrific suggestions! I just love these boards. I have to believe that our planning for this trip would be very different without all this helpful info. I found myself tempted to pull out the summer clothes this morning, (temperatures are expected to hit 50 today afterall - LOL), but I thought that might be pushing it a bit! I guess I'll wait a week...!!

Hey Diana,

No problem. I know these boards have been a weath of information for me over the last year so any that I can pass along it great. Let me know if you guys need anything else or have more questions.

I know it was 45 here yesterday and the snow is starting to melt.:sunny: :bounce:
