About designer handbags...

Coach is more mid-level I think, but big bucks to me!
I like their plain leather bags. Not the ones with logos all over them. I think they are made well and they have great customer service if something does go wrong with it.

What do you feel is a good quality bag and worth big bucks?
Disney Dooney's! ;) Really, those are the only "nice" bags I own. Plus, I just picked up a Michael Kors on sale from Nordstrom but even that I don't know if I would've bought at full price.

Ditto this. Coach bags are made very well. They're not as expensive as, say, Louis V bags, but still pricey-- worth every penny.

I also love, love, LOVE Kate Spade bags. They're very cute, especially if you're into the whole preppy aesthetic of Kate Spade. They hold out for a long time, too. They're more expensive than a typical coach bag, but they're worth it!

Most designer bags are great quality. What you're paying for is the name. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that, just be aware of it. The quality doesn't get exponentially better as the price rises. (And ignore the people who don't think bags are "worth it." Personally I don't think new cars, sports tickets, or Star Wars memorabilia is "worth it". Judgement like this just mean it's not something I, personally, want so therefore if I bought it it would be a waste of money.)

I like Dior bags personally. The lamb skin is butter soft and the patent holds up spectacularly well. I've carried a patent tote for years, I'm not at all precious with it, and it still looks brand new. For far less expensive brands I like Kate Spade, which isn't as market saturated as Coach. There's some lesser known brands, such as Linna Pelle, that also make beautiful bags.

Louis Vuitton hands down. I have 4 and they last FOREVER and the quality and resale is like no other. My first LV I got as a college grad gift from my mom and I used it STEADILY for over 15 years and it did show wear I admit it! But I mean CONSTANT USE. My other bags I do use heavily and repeatedly and they look fantastic. Well worth the INVESTMENT. A bag for a lifetime really.

I love coach full line bags, I can 1000% tell the difference between them and their outlet stuff.

I have 2 LV bags.
Another bag designer I love is TODS leather. as previous poster mentioned not as heavily marketed as coach.

So here's my coach customer service story. A couple of Christmases ago I went to the mall and did some shopping. Get back to the car, put my bag on top of the car to put shopping bags in the trunk. You know
Where this is heading, close the trunk, get into the car with coach bag still on top and proceed to drive off. get up to 35 mph, bag goes flying off the top in the middle of traffic. long story short, after being run over by a couple of cars, I sent it back to coach. the replaced the strap, cleaned and buffed the leather. We call it my battle bag. Still absolutely gorgeous

My Louie V bag is 5 years old next month and I use it every.single.day and it still looks brand new and people constantly compliment my "new bag". when pricing bags I try to work out how much I'll use it and how many situations it goes with (my particular bag works for casual to elegant outings so it's really versitle).

My LV suitcase, wallets and bags have held up nicely for 10-15 years. They are the classic brown lv pattern.

Then, I bought one of the Damier Azur checkered bags and it was a piece of junk. It tore in under 3 months. LV wouldn't fix or replace it when I took it into the store. They lost my business that day.

I've switched over to Coach leather bags from their retail stores. The outlet Coach bags are not the same quality.

I like my bags, can't afford the really expensive ones though. I'm a Dooney girl. I love their leather bags. They hold up really well and you can find good deals on them.
Someone mentioned Tods. Beautiful bags, just more than I can spend.
Oh, Brahmin has lovely bags too.

I love Coach bags. Since starting to buy from the regular Coach store, I get 25% sale invites a few times a year. Coach outlet stores are not the same thing. You have to know the Coach products to know if regular store merchandise is at the outlet store. Usually only a few non-selling pieces make it there.

I've gifted my DD with Coach bags the last few years. The regular store purses and bags come with a dust cover bag to keep them nice. I also bought Coach leather cleaner for upkeep.

My Wife likes bags that serve a purpose, not make a fashion statement. But she did buy 2 D&Bs at WDW in 2014 just because she liked the design...

She had no idea it was a "designer" bag until her friends started saying 'Ermegherd it's a Dooney & Bourke!" She just thought it was expensive because we were in Disney World!

Kate Spade is my favorite purse designer for looks, but to me they're not good "everyday" bags. For that, I don't think you can beat LV for quality and durability.

A year or so ago, I bought this Disney D&B, and I wanted so badly to love it - it's Disney without being obnoxiously-in-your-face-Disney (if that makes any sense) and it's nice and roomy:

However, it is the poorest quality D&B that I have ever owned. Within a couple of months, the design was rubbed off on the places that regularly got touched, and the leather changed to a pale brown and creased/cracked in those spots. The leather is thin, and the stitching on one handle began to fray after about three months. Soooooo disappointed.

My Dior bags have held up incredibly well. I carry them a lot and most have no signs of wear. The leather Coach bags hold up well, too!

Everyone has a Coach bag. They are now for the masses. I prefer the quality of my MK and Kate Spade bags. LV bags are pretentious, IMO.

Meh... I choose the basic colored leather(other than my favorite silver one) and you probably wouldn't even notice they're Coach bags. I have two MK and they basically look the same because I seem to gravitate toward a certain style.
