I'm wondering how this will work.

I know when I booked a ressie for Dec with 2 rooms because we had 2 adults and 4 kids we were only charged one 200.00 deposit.

This week I plan to book 2 rooms again for Sept but this time each room is for 2 adults and 1 child. Will I have to pay 200.00 deposit for each room or just one deposit since I'm booking them together all under me.

We have always been charged one night's rate for each room. Are you booking a package or room only. We booked room only.

as far as i know, if you book them all under one reservation, there is only one deposit. I was only charged one deposit on 2 rooms for May 06 trip, but for my upcoming October trip I booked the two rooms under 2 different names and was charged 2 security deposits. Anyone know something different? We booked the package both times

Sorry should have said we are booking a package. Not room only.

I decided to call. She said if we do it as one reservation we only have to put down 200.00. Ideally they would like 200.00 per room but we can get away with only 200.00 down when we book. If we book as 2 reservations (1 for each room) then we have to pay 2 deposits.

I'm booking them as one reservation because we are paying for both packages. So that's fantastic. I had enough room to do 2 deposits until I booked CRT today and had to pay for that since we haven't booked the packages yet.

Waiting for the Free Dining to be released to the general public lol

I think the response is different according to the CM you speak to (as usual). When we were there at Christmas time and I wanted to take advantage of the free dining in August promotion for return guests, the CM told me that since I needed to rooms for my package, I would have to put down a $400 deposit. I said what happened to the $200 deposit for a package - I had booked two rooms this way before. He said the rules had changed and you have to put down $200 per room on the package.

My recent is experience was that I was asked to pay a deposit for each of 2 rooms for a room only reservation.

Last Sept during free dining I booked 2 rooms (packages) for my family & my parents and had to pay 2 deposits even though they were all on the same reservation. I think it might depend on the CM but that's just my guess.

I just phoned to confirm that our adopted children's names had been added last week (I was on hold almost an hour last week to do this.....irritating), anyhow, one of them was missing so she had to go in the back way and enter him? When I made the ressies I asked about deposits since we had 2 rooms and the CS rep said one deposit was needed since it was one ressie. I again asked last week when I entered the new children's names (we already had two rooms booked) and he also said one deposit, two rooms, one ressie number.

Now tonight when I verify all the information, she says 2 deposits are needed!!!! My deposits are due tomorrow and I didn't budget the extra 200.00 this week due to being told twice that it wasn't necessary. I asked her what I could do, as the second room can't be cancelled....we'll be a family of 7 for the first time this trip.....don't ruin the magic LOL

She told me when I call tomorrow to make the deposit just ask them to get a supervisor and have them sign off on changing the date out a little for the second room and it should be okay.....I told her I was told twice that it was only one 200.00 deposit but she said they were both wrong :(

I'm praying I call tomorrow and get told that only one is needed.....we didn't plan on paying more until next week :(.....why can't they get a consensus going among all those CS workers?

I too just called to add anoyher room under my existing ressie for Free Dining & the CM told me I had to put down another $200.00 deposit on top of the one I alreday made last week.

Hope this helps.

We need two rooms since our family of 6 has 4 children, ages from 13 to 4. We did free dining last year and I only had to pay the $200 deposit once. Some CM's weren't sure but when I paid they needed to confirm with a supervisor. This year the same situation. The original CM who I made the reservation with knew about only one $200 deposit and set it up as such. When I changed resorts, the CM did not know and told me that I needed to make 2 $200 deposits, (Still same reservation #?). When I pay the $200 deposit, I will insist on a supervisor if I am asked to pay more than $200. I was told that it is done for large families who require more than one room, (mom and dad and 4 children). This has been my experience.

I have a package wth two rooms at CSR for September. Had to put down a $200 deposit on each room.

We have a package booked for September/Free Dining at POP. We needed two rooms. When we booked the original reservation, the CM said she'd put it into the system as one reservation so only one $200 deposit would be due. I paid it immediately. However, when I looked online it said that I owed a second $200 deposit for the second room. I just went ahead and paid it. I didn't want to take the chance that they'd cancel one of our rooms. I put it on my Disney Visa which is 0% for six months anyway.
