I'm not sure if this is where I should post this question, but I hope someone can help.
My brother-in-law purchased these tickets for us, but we were not all traveling together to use them. Does he have to be present to use the tickets each day?

Has anyone purchased these tickets for friends or family that were not going for all 5 days together?

Thanks in advance!

One other quick question......must all 5 vouchers be redeemed at the gate at the same time by the military personnel?

My understanding is that the military member just has to be present the first time w/everyone present. I'm hoping we can find out ourselves VERY soon ;)

I've been trying to find out if my family can take advantage of this deal. My step-dad is ex-military. He is not technically "retired". He only served 18 years, not the 20 which is required to be considered "retired". He was honorably discharged, so does he qualify for the Armed Forces Salute Tickets? Does anyone know where we can find out. He is not close to any military base so he can't inquire on base anywhere. Any help or info you all have would be great!

If he was medically retired after 18 years yes, if he just got out after 18 I don't think so, good luckpixiedust:

Hi,

Does anyone know how much it cost to upgrade the Armed Forces companion ticket to a season pass?

I called Shades of Green, but I wasn't able to get in touch with anyone in the ticket office; I left a message, but I haven't heard back from them yet.

Thanks for any info.

Nevermind, they just called me back. The upgrade would be $135.

Pixie Dust and all that aside, here's the scoop -- veterans (those who did a tour/tours, but did not retire) of the uniformed services are not eligible for the Disney offer. The key will be that Dsiney CMs wil be looking for certain ID cards (which all active duty, activated guard/reserve, and retirees -- and their families -- hold).

Ditto for the ITT offices on military bases, worldwide.

Hmmmm, I am also curious if that is on top of the 99, and if so what about the active duty complimentary tickets, I wonder if you could upgrade that.

Does he have a retired military ID? My husband is considered retired after the 18 years served because the military gave him early retirement option with full benefits.. DUH who wouldn't take that LOL His ID is blue colored one.

My understanding is active duty members are able to purchase up to 5-Day Companion Tickets for up to five (5) family members and/or friends for $99. If the friends/family want park hopper its an extra $25 making it $124 per person (before taxes and what not). As for retirees, I would think as long as you have a blue retired ID card you are good to go.
Dh is deployed now but when he gets back we are planning to take our 3 girls for there 1st Disney trip. We would be insane not to take advantage of the offer(since we will are due for orders this summer and could end up who knows where lol). We are able to drive since we are in Northern FL. 5 day park hopper tickets for a family of 5 for around $500 (one child under 2) is very do-able. We are also taking advantage of the free admission to Sea World while we're down there. We are so excited:banana:

becca1125 mentions there is also free pass to Sea World for military? I will have to look into this as I was not aware of it. Does anyone know how it works? Is it free for the military person only, or is there a family member discount? Is the free pass available to military dependents? I am watching this thread as well as it has given rise to other questions as well. I was told that the military member, or military dependent, can activate the first day of use on the passes. After that, I do not believe that you all have to be together because once they are activated, they are using them for themselves with their finger scan ID.

We just took advantage of the military discount for Sea World two weeks ago. You can check it out at www.herosalute.com to pre-register. The military person can get 1 day admission to Sea World for free, along with 3 of their dependants. You need to have the service person there at the gate with you, along with their military ID and the spouse must have their military ID as well.

Okay just found the free tix info for Sea World on Mousesavers. My husband cannot go with us in May so I am wondering if I can use the 3 dependent free admissions with my dependent military ID. The site states that military personnel and dependents over age 10 must present valid military ID to obtain the tickets. DGD will be 3 and DGS will be 4 so I think we might be able to use these but will likely have to call Sea World for some clarification unless one of you has more specific info? Should be the same as what Disney is offering though and i was told by them my husband does not have to be with us if I have a dependent ID.

Jessma9902 thanks for the info. Are you sure on the military member needing to be present when we use them? My military ID indicates that I an "active duty dependent." Wouldn't that qualify me? He will not be with us for this trip but Disney told me that was fine as I have an active duty military dependent ID and that is all we will need supposedly. Thanks!
