So am I correct in assuming there is no app I can get for an IPod Touch that will give wait times, fast pass return times etc? Leaving tomorrow morning!

There's no wifi at Disney in the parks, so your iTouch wouldn't be able to get on the internet anyway.

I just downloaded one last night. It has park maps, dining, ride wait times, etc. It looks pretty good.

I didn't realize there was no wifi in the parks. Isn't that rather archaic?? I think there's wifi practically EVERYWHERE now.

There has to be wifi "somewhere" at WDW? Right? Hmmmm...I guess I spent $4.99 on nothing.

"somewhere?" Sure. But not in the parks. And thank goodness for that.

It may be useless for wait times, but the free undercover tourist app is great for a dining guide. It has a list of nearly every table, counter and snack cart in the world as well as menus, ratings and prices. This feature works offline. You can also access the park hours which may come in handy and the parade times as long as you use the app once online before you arrive in Disney World.

Archaic, yes. Practical, no. Campus wifi isn't like setting up a hotspot at your Starbucks. Especially when you're dealing with 44,000 (and this is key) roaming guests. It can be done, and you can get it for free, but be prepared to pay an extra $15-20 per day for your park ticket to support the required infrastructure. :)

Correct a little mom and pop coffee shop can install a $50 Wi Fi router and say we have free Wi Fi.

For Disney to do it seamlessly would require a ton of infrastructure that isn't needed now and will be needed less in the future as more and more people buy smart phones with cellular internet.

Where do you live that there is free wi fi everywhere. Like you can just connect walking down the street? :confused3

Did you notice you cant buy a news paper in the parks? Walt did this for a reason he wanted to make a place where family can spend time together not be distracted :)
