? about Annual Meetings

Can you only go to the annual meeting where you own points or can you attend any of them? We own at BCV but don't fly in till 9am on Dec 1, when the meeting is, can we attend one of the others-- SSR@2pm or VWL@11am?

Yes, you can attend any annual meeting-I've done it! Two years ago I was very concerned about attending an annual meeting at other than my home resort, I even called my guide to see if it would be OK. But once I got there, I realized-the management is happy to see DVCers at any annual meeting-it shows they're taking an interest. Just a word of warning, the following year we bought an add-on at the resort whose annual meeting I'd attended, so watch out for that add-on bug!

You are more than welcome to attend any of the DVC annual meetings! I find it a wonderful opportunity to meet & mingle with DVC CMs at various levels. Also, you will see how management takes care of your investment. Don't htink twice about it & attend any meeting!

I have not noticed any children at the annual meetings I attended, although I am sure they would not be turned away.

IMHO, most older children would be very bored - it is like a business meeting/seminar/school lecture. There are no childcare facilities provided for younger children - the closest would be at the BC/YC/BCV (Assuming the meetings are held at the BW convention center again this year).

I went to BWV meeting last year...didn't see any kids. It would be a bit boring for them. This year I'll be on a plane, over Georgia when BW's meeting is. So, I'll most likely go to BC's the next day.

Are all the meetings at the BW convention center or just BWV's meeting? Will they send us more info about it later? (DH or I will probably attend and the other will pool hop with the kids-- just wanted to let them know where they will be swimming at and planning where they will be eating lunch at-- I know I have lots of time yet but I just can't stop thinking about "going home" for our first time! )

All of the WDW DVC annual meetings were at the BW convention center last year. But it may be different this year.

We will get more info as the dates get closer - you will actually receive a letter from DVC inviting you to your home resort's meeting (and asking you to RSVP).

After very little consideration we decided we MUST attend this years annual meeting (needed an excuse for a getaway). Much to my surprise there a no studios in all the world 11/30-12/2 !! I thought the week after Thanksgiving was a slow time, are the meetings that popular ??

It's not so much that the meetings are that popular, but from THanksgiving until Dec. 15 is the most popular time for DVCers to visit the WORLD for the holiday decor.

Keep in mind that while you may attend any of the Annual Meetings, there will be a small portion of the meeting that is geared directly to the owners of that particular resort.

The meeting will start with all general DVC things that apply to everyone. That's probably 90% of the meeting.

The rest will usually be an update of some kind by the resort manager for the specific DVC resort's meeting being held.

The Q&A session will most likely cover both general DVC topics as well as some resort specific topics.
