? About Adding a day to a 6+ Day Parkhopper...

Hi everyone! I just know someone here will know the answer to this one... I am planning on purchasing 8-day parkhoppers for my family from Flightcentre.ca before we drive down from Canada this spring. I've already seen that once you get to the park you can add an extra day or two to your parkhopper ticket at the ticket booth (as long as you do it before your current hopper expires) but from what I've seen,most of the people who have asked have been wondering about adding to a 2 or 3-day hopper. Anyone know if 8 days is as long as you can go, or if you can add a day onto an 8-day ticket, and also, where's the best place to go to do this? (guest relations or the ticket booth). I'm thinking we are going to need one extra day in the park, and although I'm willling to pay full price if I have to, I certainly would prefer to just pay to add it on if possible. Thanks to anyone who has some input or advice!

I know you can add days to a 6 day to make 7 or 8. But the 8 day and longer passes are only offered through international channels so I don't know if they would be allowed to add days to it at the parks, or even know what kind of pricing that would be.

Looks like you try to go almost annually, if there is a chance you are going next year, within the year, you could also pay to top up to an annual pass (you pay the difference so if Flightcentre.ca is $248 you would be an additional $131 for an adult ticket. If you have to pay full price for one additional day, which I suspect you might have to, as I've not heard of anyone extending an 8 day pass, then you may as well upgrade to an annual pass if you think you can get back before next year. You would only do the upgrade AFTER you have used the early morning entry. On the other hand, the 10% discount on food in the parks can be huge! Did you get a Hojo's kids suite? It's fantastic hotel, you will love it, and so easy to walk to and from, even with little ones. We too came to Disneyland for a 'once in a lifetime trip' with the kids back when our 15 year old was 10, and we've been going annually ever since. Sounds like you're a true Disney fan.

After a ticket is upgraded to the gate price of a 5 day ticket, currently $246, it's $5 more per day to add on. I know you can get upto 14 day tickets.

It's possible you will loose the Flightcentre discount.

Hi and thanks to everyone for the responses! Just got off the phone with WDTC and the Annual Passport Centre helpdesk place - WDTC tells me that they can only do 6-day tickets, don't have anything higher than that at the park to upgrade to - I kinda figured that, but again, maybe this is something they tell people on the phone? I mean, I have friends going with 6-day hoppers that were told they can add 2 days when they get to the park, so maybe I am not being told the entire story? Maybe I will find out something different at the actual park, but again, maybe not. I don't mind if I lose the flightcentre discount - being able to add a day for $5 would still be way cheaper, but at this point, it's probably not very likely. I also called about the benefits of upgrading to an annual pass - probably my best option and certainly would pay for itself if I could ensure that our trip next year would happen before the pass expired. But if not, it would work out to being about $150 more than just paying for one single parkhopper day, and also, I was told that because my original parkhopper would expire at the end of a saturday, that I would have to upgrade by the end of that day to avoid having to pay for the blockout ticket for that day. so that would get me in on a blockout day without having to pay the extra $65 pp blockout ticket charge BUT it falls on the second last day of our trip, so I wouldn't have the AP during the trip to get the benefit of the 10% discount on food and merchandise (which would've helped to eat the extra $150 cost). So...phew, after the phone calls I made and the advice I've been given by you kind people, it seems that my options are to just pay the price of a full park day, or to pay even more for an annual pass as long as we do go again within the next year. Have to talk to hubby about that. anyway, just thought I'd summarize what I've learned today in case anyone else was wondering the same thing. Also, if any of you have gone to the park and experienced a different option that they are NOT letting me know on the phone, I'd really appreciate the help and feedback. hey - I don't mind paying - I know what this trip is worth and how much fun we're going to have - but I also want to choose my best option too.
Oh, and jory, thanks for asking- we just have the standard room at the hojo's this time, but plan to try and get the kid's suite next trip. I hear it's amazing and I know the girls will love it!

What you heard about 6 days only is the standard line when you call, because they don't presell longer than 6 days. I assure you it will be different when you get to the resort.


What they said about the AP is all correct. You have to upgrade before the last day of using your ticket, which when you go to the park and add days make day 6 less relevant. Though you miss out on the discounts until the AP is in hand. You will also have to be careful on your next trip about blockout days.

The one things that you may of wrongly been told or misheard or mistypes is the price of the Blockout Ticket. It's $59 and still published by Disney at that same price.

One strategy you can use. Is get one Premium AP, for the bigger discount and won't have to worry about blockouts. The person who pays only gets the discount if it's thier AP. But this way you could upgrade that one person on day one and get the discounts the whole time. It's a lot more so make sure it's worth it.
