Hi! I was wondering if anyone could tell me how the sizing works for AF kids. My son is 11 and small for his age (4ft 5in) and I am not sure what size he would be for this store (I am ordering online and the closest store is 3hrs away so trying on is not really an option). He wears a L at old navy and size 10 in jeans. Anyone shop here for their kids and have insight on boys sizes?

Are you worried that the size chart won't work for him for some reason? I'm not familiar with their clothes, but I would compare their size chart and Old Navy's (since you know what Old Navy size he wears) and go from there. Edited to add : you may not get a lot of responses on the budget board since Abercrombie isn't known for low prices, lol.

I know that for the girls the sizes for pants run small. My daughter wears a 10 or 12 in jeans and shorts everywhere else, but at Abercrombie Kids she wears a 14. Their shirts seem to run true to size though. Abercrombie Kids has great sales. I only shop at the very back of the store, thats where the marked down items are. They often have take an extra 50% off on items already marked down. Their prices are very reasonable when they have clearance sales,

I would guess a large in the kid's section if he is lean. Abercrombie runs very fitted. My oldest is very slim and fits nicely. My middle is huskier and can not wear clothes from them at all. If he wants it roomy, I'd go with the XL.

I agree with the above poster. If you watch sales towards the back of the store, you can get Abercrombie Tshirts cheaper than the Hanes one at Walmart.

Thank you all for your help. I just went with a (L) and if they are too big he will grow lol. I should have mentioned that I was looking at the clearance section online because the price is reasonable. He is going to be in middle school this fall and I have always shopped at Old Navy (love love) but his interest in wearing old navy is fading and so I am looking for "older kids" brands that he will like better. I had first ordered some things from Hollister in (S) but good grief these shirts swallowed him up! I have found it kind of hard to find brands that are more grown up but small enough for his size and age. The brand that American Eagle had for kids was great but they changed the brand and the look :crazy2:

Ha! Sorry about the timing lol! BTW that was a good idea about comparing the sizing on the two brands...did not think of that :thumbsup2

No problem. It took me too long to get my quotes down and you posted by the time I was done. Since the store is 3 hours away I don't think you'll be there soon, lol!
