I'd like to celebrate my 10th anniversary next summer at my favorite place on earth -- Wyoming. I've been to Wyoming several times and am pretty knowledgeable about the Jackson/Teton/Yellowstone area. What makes this ABD trip stand out in comparison to booking my own trip? I would love to hear from people that have done this trip.

I have never been to Brooks Lake Lodge. Is it fabulous?

I have not stayed in Yellowstone National Park since I was a teenager as I'm kind of fussy. Last trip we spent some time at Jenny Lake Lodge in Teton NP and drove into Yellowstone. What is the Old Faithful Snow Lodge like? I do know exactly where it is but other than using the rest room haven't been in there. I'm familiar with The Wort but haven't stayed there either.

There is a sticky for trip reports at the top of the forum. There are 3 reports on the Wyoming trip there.

We did this trip last summer, and I have a trip report - I think 54 - in the sticky section.

I loved, loved the Wort. If you are familiar with it, you know it is small and quaint. The rooms are beautiful but a little dark if that bothers you.

Snow Lodge is nice, but I wouldn't call it 5 star. However, you are in a national park. The rooms were clean and comfortable but a bit hot. I thought the food was very good.

Brooks Lake Lodge is great! I was a family of five, so we stayed in one of their cabins. Depending on the size of the ABD group, a couple might be in a guest room. The food is top notch!

I'm not sure whether to recommend this. If you have been to Wyoming a lot, you might love hiking and really exploring the outdoors. I think this trip is more for people who do not want to do this on their own. The hikes were not that strenuous, and you only see a tiny smidgen of the Tetons and Yellowstone. It was great for my family, but I would love to go back when my youngest is really ready to hike all day. I do think they have added a day at Brooks Lake Lodge so take that into account when reading last year's trip reports.

Thanks. I did find a trip report from a couple years ago. Ill try and find yours. If the itinerary is similar I suspect we'll go it alone, but we certainly might include Brooks Lake Lodge. We love to hike, ride horses, look for grizzly bears and wolves, dine at the fabulous restaurants, and just soak up the Wyoming splendor. For me it's heaven on earth. I'm still trying to convince my husband it would be reasonable for me to spend the summer out there while he works back home. :) Just kidding. Kinda ...

K&K,

I read our report. Sounds like a great trip. I cannot recommend enough planning another trip to spend more time in Yellowstone and Teton NPs. I'm sorry you didn't get a chance to go to The Silver Dollar Bar at The Wort. One of my favorite places to go have bar food and absorb the atmosphere. Please feel free to message me if you ever want my input.
