ABD River Cruise Excursion question

Curious about the excursions on the ABD river cruises... do we pick them ahead of time like regular ocean cruises, or do we make our selections each morning for the day? Just curious how this works. TIA

For our Rhine cruise in June of 23, we selected our excursions a few months in advance, on the phone with ABD.

For the Danube, we chose them the first day of the ABD, in a meeting with the Adventure Guides before we boarded the ship. This was the first season in 2016, so I'm not sure if they still do it that way. They also allowed you to change your mind if there was room on a different excursion.

I picked mine this week for one in April. Difference from Disney ocean is you are not locked in, ie you can drop out at any time including after the trip has started. However moving to another or waiting to pick, there may be some which are full and cannot accept additional guests.

For the Seine River Cruise, we selected them in advance. I believe that there were options to change your mind, as Mathmagicland mentioned.
