ABD Backstage Magic 7/31 - 8/5/11

You know we could * could* mail them home.. Plus there has to be a allowance for what might get eaten whilst in Los Angles. Vacation rules apply, calories dont count on Vacation.

Yes, we *could* but I think I want to save that for a different sort of indulgence - Mickeys of Glendale :wizard:

Did anyone get the "special" offer for the 3 documentaries coming out Nov 2? One was about the Sherman Brothers, another called Waking Sleeping Beauty and the third was about Walt's South American trip. I have been wanting to see all three, so I went ahead and spent the $50.

Yes, we ordered them, too! :thumbsup2

Who made this offer? I didn't get it...and wonder what are these videos about? Pardon the ignorance but this is new to me :)

It was sent out by www.disneymoviecollections.com by mail, but you can also go to the website and order from there. The mailing offer expires on 10/31/2010, but I think the website had a slightly longer deadline. (Don't quote me on that though. )

Hmm, those would be the exact three things I asked for for Christmas. Hmmm.. I think we may not have got it here, because we are in another country. Boooo..

I was afraid of that. Are you still allowed to order online, or is it US shipping/purchasing only?

I think I remember having a chocolate bar - Dove? - when I was in NZ years ago. Really velvety and yummy.

I have seen them in the store but never bought one... (I know, I know, I should be ashamed of myself! :rotfl2: )

You need to keep your energy level up while traveling and chocolate is a high energy food!

I got an ABD letter in the mail today! It was another confirmation letter. So exciting! I just love getting ABD stuff in the mail!!! :)

No new ABD info here. Not too worried but its nice to get Mickey mail.

I haven't gotten a new ABD letter yet either. As long as that's no concern, I'm not concerned. ;)

All this talk of chocolate sounds delicious...but I'm on a diet. :rotfl: Hopefully by the time we're at Disneyland, I will have reached my goal weight and will be able to make arrangements for splurges in my diet. Vacation calories, extra walking and all that... :rotfl:

No new ABD info here. And I'm on a diet too - well, I'm calling it 'Getting Healthy 2010'. Diet is such a nasty nasty word :sad2: I'm about 1lb away from 30 lbs gone since I started this in July! (I won't say 'lost' - I know where every frikkin' ounce went :scared:) From there it's another 20-25 to goal. I think it's all just a matter of balance - 'cause I'm gonna have my Main St. Emporium caramel corn (and looks like the new Werthers shop in Germany/Epcot is a MUST for me), my Dole Whip and my Tigger Tail (maybe 2) in DLand. :lovestruc
So - balance that with normal portions, fruit and veg and fish which I love anyway. Oh and my new mantra ... KEEP MOVING. At least 30 min of something daily, on top of what ever else I'm doing (WiiFit is great I find).
So - good on you! I cheer you on!! :cheer2:

Congratulations on the 29 pounds lost!! :cheer2: It's really hard to lose weight, especially when you've got a lot to lose. I'm in that boat too. The WiiFit is my friend too! :cool1: I do that or the treadmill nearly every other day (apart from a few days it's just too late to do anything). I've also been on an official diet since I needed the ugly word.

I'm hoping that once I've reached my goal weight, I will be able to eat moderate portions, stay active always and eat those treats I miss - especially at Disney. Time will tell... I used to be able to do that, but as I've gotten older, it's gotten MUCH harder to do. One thing I decided as I looked at photos from my last ABD trip in July was that I will NOT have another fat photo from Disneyland. I've been to Disneyland twice, and each time, I was the heaviest I'd ever been to those dates. This coming July, those photos are going to look a LOT different! :goodvibes

Firstly a huge congrats to all of you reaching their health goals - whether they be weight loss or exercise based - they are all good! I know its not easy.

And I would like to annouce that I am PIF for this trip :cool1: :cheer2:

So I have a question for those that know California... Mum and I are planning on driving from Anaheim to SF and back again - I've allocated about 2 weeks for this - what should we have on our list of "must sees"? I have Hearst Castle, Alcatraz and Disney Family Museum but what else?

We love history and museums and don't mind outdoor activities such as walking trails as long as they aren't too strenuous (Mum is 66 - albeit a fairly fit 66 - and please don't tell her I told you her age :rotfl: )

Yeah Us!!! :flower1: I too looked at photos from our last trip (Vegas) and thought - oh no, fat picture!. Plus, at 45 I figure lose it now, it's only going to get harder. Looking forward to being fit and energetic for WDW in Feb, and DL in August! And the new clothes shopping isn't too bad either !!:rolleyes::rolleyes:

Paid in Full :)

I'm weeks behind in my podcast listening so really looking forward to hearing what they say about ABD.

Its a totally crazy time of year here now - its the mad rush up to Christmas with social events and BBQs etc. Its rapidly turning into summer so it gets nutso with Christmas, then New Years then everyone goes off on summer holidays until end of January when the schools go back. It find it hard to get time in front of the computer at this time year when its so nice outside.

I need to start thinking about planning for this trip but really can't find the motivation just yet - maybe in February ;)
