ABA and the State of Wy

We petitioned the Disabilities Waiver program in Wyoming to pay for part of the ABA program bill which is now over 12K. We did this back on June 8th.

Today in the mail we received a letter stating that they will pay our program director $4200 which was for the past three months work!

Our case is the very first one in the State to ever be approved. Hopefully we have opened the door for other parents who are ready to do everything to give their children the best possible outcome.

Now the State is aware that are no services offered the at the local child developement center and I can prove that after 1 yr of speech therapy with the CDC our DS tested out at 11 months. He now has over 200 words and keep adding daily. He can name every body part and can brush his teeth and is potty trained except at nite. He can name animals and not use the sounds they make! He can identify over 50 verbs! Lifting, combing, jumping, etc.

Our ABA program is the first home based program in the state and we are comminted to continuing until he is able to enter a school that offers ABA.

We are thrilled that the State of Wyoming is starting to see that more is needed and they have given us something for our program.

We do two home ABA/VB programs for our sons, funded by our school system. It's hard work, isn't it? But worth every minute! And I've had to fight tooth and nail to keep their funding!
