AARGH!! Ebay!!

I'm remembering why I quit selling a couple of years ago. We had accumulated a bunch of stuff lately so thought I'd throw it all on eBay and see what happens. It's selling, but geez, some of the questions you get!!
Sure, I'll be happy to stop my auction right now so you can get the lowest price and not give anyone else a chance to bid on it or me to make a higher amount! It's eBay, not a garage sale, for Pete's sake!

I recently closed both my eBay and Paypal accounts. I can not trust either one anymore. Way too many jerks trying to scam a deal with you.

I try to take a 1-2 month break every couple of months. I am just coming off one. I usually sell clothing- and it just doesn't go that well from Dec-Mid-January. So, I'm getting ready for spring break stuff now. However, w/o the breaks I'd burn out fast. There are some really doozies on ebay.

I like the people who email me and say an item is too expensive and they will give me $XX for it. This has happened to me several times, but my favorite time was when I started bidding at $19.99,and had a guy email me and tell me he would give me $13.00. I ignored his email, but he emailed again when the item was up to $26.00, again offering me $13.00 (he had to have known, because he emailed me from the link on the auction!) The item ended up selling for $60.00, BTW.

Let's start a fad!

If bidders or potential bidders act obnoxious, block them from bidding one bidder name at a time. The last thing you want is having them try to reverse the payment after you have shipped the item.

I too quit selling on Ebay recently after yaers of selling. I got tired of the stupid questions, threatening emails and the straw that broke the camels back....A CHARGEBACK!!! I offered to refund the money, when the buyer returned the item that was supposedly damaged. He refused to return the item and PayPal gave him his money back....I Got "SCREWED" so now both EBAY and PAYPAL won't get any of my money!!!

Well, all in all, not too bad - $684 - and cleaned out my garage!

Thank goodness the guy that won tires said he'd pick them up instead of me having to ship them!

And the individual who wanted me to stop the auction so she could buy the curtains cheaper, ended up winning the auction and paid 4x as much as I was asking for them. Looks like she's buying alot of newborn stuff though, so maybe she's pregnant, and I'll blame it on the hormones!

I'm new to these boards but a powerseller on ebay and have been selling for 6 years so believe I've about seen it all now.

I have a store so when I'm actually listing less on auction and my in my store lately. I have had an auction running since the 10 cent sale and those were all fixed price (BIN) so that does make life easier for me. I can't stop selling esp since ebay is paying for my WDW trip next year in Jan.

Some buyers are annoying but overall I have great customers so no real complaints. It sounds like you did well for cleaning house. DH would love for me to quit some days so the back room and get rid of the clutter though it's all contained to one spare room and neatly organized on a clothing rack and containers so I don't understand his gripe.

I am so burnt out on ebay right now but can't stop. I have a store with 1000+ items and a house full of CRAP! So much I need to list. After this past holiday season between the mail, someone stealing all my packages one day and just some "different" ebayers I felt like screaming and calling it quits. Today was another day, send in a request for my ebay fees and the people go NUTS! Or say they want to complete the auction, they bought two but only wanted one, now I am out two fees! I wait atleast 3 weeks usually longer before turning them in for credit and every time I do I think, why do I even sell! Atleast the lady apologized tonight.

The nutty eBayer strikes again. She emailed me on Wednesday that she was sending me a check for the curtain. Okay - good - no problems.

I just got an email from her asking for my address - the address she's already received, but whatever, maybe she deleted it. And then (even though ad clearly states, No PayPal - please don't ask. Will you take PayPal? If not, I guess I'll just have to write you a check.

My first real nutty question came this week, I was selling a Maclaren Triumph Stroller Rain Cover never used, still in package...this was the title of my auction, also detailed in the description of the auction and a picture of the rain cover in the bag...
