Heyo, normally when my family goes to WDW and DL we get the Disability Pass for someone in our group. I've researched the equivalent at Universal, and saw a bunch of blog stories about the Attraction Assistance Pass. However, I couldn't find anything about it on Universal's website. Does anyone know if they are actually doing it still, and if so, is the process of getting it pretty much the same as at Disney (go to guest relations, tell them disability, etc.)? Thanks!

They do still offer this. You need to go to guest services at the park. You can go to the one outside the gates, or inside. The person who the pass is for needs to be present. If they agree a pass is needed, a paper one is issued. You need to present it to a team member at the entrance to the ride. They will give you a return time, and when you return, you are typically let into the express line. You can only hold one return time at a time.

Someone else can maybe chime in with more information. I believe If the disability is related to being in a wheelchair, they typically do not issue a pass as the lines are setup to accommodate them. The pass is meant to essentially hold a place in line for those not able to be in the line for an extended period. My daughter is on the spectrum and has a lot of difficulty being in close proximity to others. The pass helps immensely. We get our time to return, and get a snack or do a bit of shopping until our time.

Hope that helps!

Thank you so much! That's very good to know.

Thank you Cindy!! We are going next Sunday! I haven’t been to Universal since the 90s so I would love any advice!
Two questions:
1. Can we go to Guest Relations outside the park before park opens?
2. Any advice as to parks strategy? We are only going for both Harry Potter Worlds. We are planning to enter through Universal Studios to get the “in order” Harry Potter experience. Also I think Islands has early entry that day anyway. Thoughts? Comments? Definitely know nothing about the park beyond some YouTube videos that weren’t detailed enough. Thank you so much!!

Cindy - My child is also on the spectrum and has difficulty being close in proximity to others. Is this all you needed to let them know? Did they require additional information? Thanks!

my son has anxiety and we are staying at RP for express pass as well. I talked to guest services on the phone and they helped me set it up so I have a code number I can present to guest services because my son doesn't like hearing me tell strangers his problems. is this good for hagrids and velocicoaster?

Have a member of our party who will likely need an AAP. I might call and ask if they can give us a reference code to pick up at the park. Does anyone know if they require all members of the party to be with the AAP holder when picking up? Or just the AAP holder needs to be there and we tell them the size of the party?

Only the person that needs the assistance card needs to be present.

Guest services can issue it to you.

Every time we have gotten the pass they have asked for all of the members in our party to be visible and asked to see their tickets. This has consistently happened to us for years. The only time it didn't was MANY years ago when they actually put my son's pass on his AP and it was printed on the back of his hard ticket.

One time there were 7 of us and they refused to add the 7th, so we took turns one of us sitting out from rides. It didn't matter since the pass at each attraction was handwritten so they had no names.

I was glad to see your post because my son also struggles with anxiety and SPD. I got the code after calling guest services. It was better than having him there to hear what I was saying and other strangers in line possibly hearing as well. It's a very personal, and frankly, painful thing to discuss in a crowded park setting with strangers. I believe it will work for Hagrid's and Velocicoaster but perhaps not pteranodon flyers. I'm not sure but I think I've read reports that PF was excuded. We will also have express passes but we have had such bad experiences with him in the Hagrid's line that we've had to leave the park.
