Hello All
I need to vent so hear me out. Today I tried to make my ADRs for our upcoming BWV stay starting 8/23/09 which is exactly 90 days out. I called WDW Dining at close to 9 am this morning (because DVC Member Services WAS CLOSED FOR MEMORIAL DAY ), was on hold for over 30 minutes before I talked to a CM. That is when she couldn't find my Reservation number for our stay!!!!!:scared1: She couldn't find anything under my name either!!! Or under the resort!
Now I didn't have the reservation# with me since we were in NYC for the weekend so I had to wait until I got home tonight, found my confirmation letter and called WDW Dining back. I was on hold again starting at 9 pm for another 20 minutes and finally was able to give them my number and guess what??? NOTHING, NOTHING, NOTHING. She even checked a few ways and coming up blank. How could Disney have lost or deleted my reservation but yet when I logged into my dvcmember account, it is still showing my reservation???? It seems unbelievable that there is no interface betweent he 2 systems??
It is so frustating that there is nothing that can be done until tomorrow when I have to call MS at 9 am (probably have to sneak out of work) and have them check. Meanwhile, I'm afraid that I won't be able to get an ADR for Cali Grill to celebrate my DS' birthday!
Thank you for letting me vent. :headache:

See the post below with a mad red smiley next to it - that poster had the same problem with a missing reservation number. Sorry! :goodvibes I'm sure it will get worked out with Member Services tomorrow.

I had the same thing happen about two weeks ago. My total hold time on both the ADR number and member services was about two and a half hours. When I finally got in touch with a CM at member services, she still could not make the reservations. The CM commented that “the system” was not allowing her to input the ADRs. She then put me on hold, I waited for 20 minutes, and hung up because I had to get to a meeting. The last CM I spoke with that day was finally able to make the ADRs. Of course, I did not get the majority of the ADRs.

It was an extremely frustrating experience. In addition to the long wait time, the CM at the dining number was rude. It was not even worth asking for a supervisor on both numbers, there was nothing that they could do either. :sad2:

I had a very similar problem a couple of months ago. Lucky for me I miscalculated my 90 mark so I actually called one day early and that is when I discovered that they didn't have my confirmation number. They were able to find my reservation (eventually), but they had it under a different number. It was very frustrating; for the two days that I called I waited a combined 90minutes before even being connected to someone (and I called at exactly 7:00).

Has anyone not had problems with their DVC reservation number when calling Disney Dining? I'm worried about this happening to me (because it has in the past...). Seems like their new system isn't working out too well.

I called back DVC MS this morning, waited another 30 hour before they found that my ressie was indeed not coming up in the dining system. They can only guess that since I was waitlisted, it had something to do with that and they are on it. Finally, I still haven't made any ADRs because the Dining system CRASHED and they told me to call back!!
I am not feeling the Disney magic at this point!!!

When they re-did the dining system to use the resort confirmation number they didn't abolish the system they had there before. Dining and Reservations are still two distinct database systems. It sounds to me like the system that propagates the reservation numbers, names and dates over to the dining system has had some glitches in it that are still being worked out.

Sorry you encountered trouble :(

If you have ONE reservation number for your entire stay, you may have a better chance of not having problems. When I booked my ADRs, the problem they were having was that I had too many linked reservations, it was too confusing for them. I think maybe I should have called MS.

Anyways, I was using 3 different contracts with 2 different memberships as well as a split stay. It was just too much for them. Now usually, I would only have two different reservation numbers but because I had to change my reservations, it turned into a mess. The worst thing is that I had to explain to Disney Dining and they couldn't understand. It was really frustrating. :scared: I understand that it's not their fault, but the system is obviously flawed. I don't know if it should be an MS problem since even though I have a linked reservation, it has numerous reservation numbers. When I received my reservation confirmation, it was shown as one reservation number, but in reality, in the MS system and obviously Disney Dining system, it's several separate ones. So this created a nightmare to book ADRs. Even though it's a continous reservation, the fact that there is more than one number, it was too difficult for most CMs to deal with it. I did end up speaking to Guest Services who was able to do it for me. But, several times the CMs would tell me that Guest Services can't help me. Arrrgggghhhh!

Sorry, that went too long. I'm assuming that I had so much trouble because I had too many reservation numbers. By the way, the split stay didn't seem to be a big deal.:confused3 It was the continuous reservation that was too much for them.

That's what I'm worried about...we have three "segments" of our split stay this fall...but multiple confirmation numbers since we had different stays links. I think we have 5 confirmation numbers (the last section of our stay was booked as three different reservations since we also had to change our plans). It's going to be a nightmare. Not to mention that we are staying at a DVC, then CSR through regular reservations, then a DVC again...I'm worried they won't be able to book straight through since it's not all at DVC or all at a regular hotel. Can MS even help us book ADR's for days we aren't staying at a DVC? I'd really like to use Disney Dining to so we can book ADR's earlier in the day before MS opens, but I'm worried they won't be able to make it work.

I hope you get this all worked out soon. It's pretty awful since it wasn't your fault that you couldn't make ADR's. I hope they can find the reservations you are looking for.

I hope I didn't worry you. I did want to let you know that at the end of all that, I was able to get most of what I wanted and the times were a bit off, but that was fine with me.

I would suggest that you try going through Disney Dining but if they have any problems, you may just want to wait until MS opens. I know that's 2 hours later, but I think you'd be better off with MS because they know about different reservations.

I am so surprised that it took quite awhile before they "somewhat" understood what I was trying to explain and made my ADRs. I was lucky that most of the ones I spoke with were nice and patient. I did speak to one CM that was trying to convince me that no one can help me. That because my reservations were broken up into different confirmation numbers, she could only book one at a time.:scared1: Even though she can see and knew that it was a continuous stay. She said she couldn't do anything about it. She told me that Guest Service will tell me the same thing.

I finally convinced her that if that's the case, then fine, I just want to speak to someone there. When she transferred me, I explained it rather quickly and the Guest Service CM told me that the regular CMs cannot do anything in that situation, but she could. I understood that fully, my problem was that she would not transfer me over because she told me that they are expecting this during free dining and was told that they couldn't book anything if the reservations were split.

I later found out what she meant. And then I became even angrier because she knew I wasn't participating in free dining and she still told me that.

Finally, my ADRs are made. MS had to get a supervisor to rebook my entire stay under one reservation number! Then she said the dining system was still down even though soemone posted on the disboards that they just went back up. She tried anyway and I was right! I got Cali Grill and Fllying Fish on the nights that we wanted!!!!
I also told them that this glitch inthe system if they don't straighten it out will be a huge problem!

Glad to know you got it straightened out!

I think I'm going to be worried until I get all my ADRs! It sounds like they are trying to preempt the issues they might have had in the past during free dining, which affects the people that don't even get free dining. Thanks for the responses.
