Because my septic is overflowing, and all the plummers have taken the day off!!!

I came home from work after midnight last night and DS16 says that the one toilet is clogged. So I plunge it, and nothing. I tell DH that the toilet is clogged and he flushed a few times, and looks at me like I'm crazy...you know the look men give you when they fixed the non-problem, and think you made it up. So, he goes about his business, puts on a load of wash :rotfl2:

So, I'm sitting watching TV, drinking my coffee, and I hear bubbles from the potty. I tell him, and he goes and flushes it...yup, guess I'm not so dumb after all...HA...backing up...HA AGAIN!!!

So DH starts running...goes in basement, water coming out of the ceiling pipe...on the floor...he runs to turn off washer... So,I ask sweetly..."Is there a problem?" (batting eyes for full effect...totally lost on running DH...)

So, I'm telling the kids that they have to act like bears in the woods :rotfl2: And I'm "camping" at my house, washing dishes on my deck in a bucket :rotfl2:

Oh, and the 24/7 plummer can come out tomorrow:lmao:

Oh  Debbie!!!

I'm so sorry.. why is the 24/7 plumber on a holiday? I know, I know.. it's a holiday...

He better be there bright and early tomorrow morning...

Sorry you are having problems!

I would be demanding a camping trip at the nearest hotel!:rolleyes1

oh debbie so sorry to hear this. how awful. that plumber better be right on it tomorrow am:moped: !

Well, the company that we use to "maintain" called back, and they are coming out today...for an extra $100...but it is the holiday...so I guess we are paying...

I like the camping at a hotel idea though :goodvibes

Thanks AWM for the offer too :teeth:

Unfortunatly, DH is going to bed (worked midnights), I'll be waiting for the pumper guy, and cleaning up a wet basement :cool1: Woohoo, party at my house :rotfl:

Grrrrrrrrrrrr :(

Hope everyone has a better holiday than I am!!! :lmao:

I'm pumped!! (that just doesn't sound right does it?)

Anyway, who knew that there is a filter that needs to be cleaned every 4 months :confused3 Guess DH didn't because that was our trouble...at least it wasn't more serious... and my holiday is saved!!

And where is this filter? I am quite certain we have never cleaned a filter on our septic system. Might be a good idea to look for it and get that taken care of.

Ugh! Men.. sometimes they just don't think.... :)
Good to hear it wasn't more serious and now you can get back to having a nice day off...

The filter is INSIDE the grossness of the tank. It is located right at the out pipe for the leach field. The guy PROMISED me that if the tank is running properly, that side will be better than what I saw today, and the handle of the filter is above the water...at which point I told him IF it was below the water he was getting another call from me :rotfl2:

It'a a long yellow plastic thing...and DH swears he never saw or heard of it :confused3 I honestly wish I could say the same thing, but alass, I got a great view :rotfl:

I am glad it is all fixed! What a fun way to spend a holiday.

:woohoo: Know what I'm making my DH do today.

 Glad it was an easier fix than running new lines.

 Sorry you had to see it.

:flower3: Thanks for the info.

You had a poopy party on this holiday?! Thanks for NOT inviting us. lol

Our septic needs to be pumped every five years. Never heard of a filter that needs to be cleaned out. :confused3

Thank goodness it got cleaned out and cleaned up so quickly. Well worth the extra cost to get it done today
