AAA Wishes viewing area

I want to post what little I found about this and get this post back on top. Hopefully we can all find the answers we are looking for.

After doing some research online at mousesavers I found that this was included with the Dream Maker (Silver, Gold, Platinum) packages but now that they have done away with Dream Maker and doing the MYW I haven't found anything new.

I just got back from my AAA travel agent and they didn't know anything about it. She called disney directly for me and found out what you need to do. When you book a trip through AAA travel you get a AAA Diamond card that offers discounts to different things. All you have to do is show this card at the viewing area and they will let you in. They said you don't need reservations. However I'm assuming they can only hold so many people so I'm going to get there early to check it out. We'll be there from 8/20 - 8/30 so I'll try it and let you know. As far as the WD travel company I don't know. But the diamond card is only given when you book a trip through AAA.

I hope this helps everyone.

Thanks for the update. I'll be looking forward to your post after your trip at the end of the month. ::MinnieMo

I wonder who we would contact at Disney to ask about this. I know the AAA agent said that no reservations are required, but the sign in the picture on page 1 says that advanced reservations are required!

Thanks for sharing. I will have to look into this. :cool1:

I'm going to try using the AAA diamond card in September when I go. I will report back if it worked.

Thanks for this info. I have my AAA Diamond Card and we are leaving this Saturday 8/13. I guess we'll see what happens when we try to use it next week.

I just talked to my agent and was told that the Wishes viewing area inside MK is only for groups of 8 or more. It's a special AAA Grand Gatherings perk.

Maybe someone elses agent can confirm this.

I'm going to call a different office and see if I get a different answer.

The package is required. I checked in July. You must have the package and you get a voucher for a one time "allowed in", a one time allowed into the AAA lounge, and a diamond parking pass--without the package the CM reserves the right to let you in at his/her discretion but you most likely will not get in. Last year AAA let us jsut have the parking pass, this year they would not.

We booked packages last year with the WDTC, and got vouchers for this "special viewing area". There wasn't anyone there checking for proof that you belonged there, and it did get quite crowded. We were right up by the railing facing the castle, and discovered too late that the view was crap. The fireworks were blocked by the trees.

We left halfway through, and watched up closer to Main Street, through a less dense tree.

Thought everyone would like to see the AAA viewing area for Wishes. Here is where it is....Walking to the castle down Main Street, turn right at the last building on Main Street and take the path to Tomorrowland ( not Tomorrowland bridge) and it is just to the left after making the turn.

You will have to contact your AAA rep. and ask them how to get a reservation.

Just wanted to let you know that I contacted Disney dealing about this and I have a diamond card too, they told me that this was offered with the "OLD" packages BEFORE MYW came out. Also my CAA travel agent spoke with 3 disney agents and no one knew of this being a recent offer. I would love to hear different if possible so if anyone has any tips on this could you please let me know. Thanks

This is the answer I just got from my agent too.

"I contacted Disney this afternoon and the 'AAA Wishes' are actually
discontinued. They were a portion of the old packages from last year."

I don't really care one way or the other - I just want Disney and AAA to get there @#$%@ story straight on what is and isn't a part of their packages.

I'm really regretting keeping my reservation with AAA after the "free dining" codes came out. I had no financial incentive to do so, but I figured it was all the same and maybe we'd use the AAA parking pass. So far, not worth it at all.

Yes, that area gets crowded and vicous! Why? Because the spot they use for the AAA area is (during the day) a smoking section. Occassionally they won't move the "ash cans" to create another smoking section so people will stand at the entrance to the patio and smoke. I saw quite a few screaming matches there between smokers and non-smokers waiting for Wishes!

I called Disney Reservations and they stated (after about 5 minutes of looking into it) that it was for AAA vacations and that you only had to show your AAA Diamond Card. I was there in late June and there was a CM standing guard right by the sign and after begging and pleading with him, he let us in by just showing our regular AAA card. If I knew that we only had to show our Diamond Card I could have saved us both some time.

I would still like to hear from some people that have used this or seen it in the Magic Kingdom; also from someone who went in July or Aug.

my TA really didnt know much about it either, just that it was part of an OLD package that they did away with....the view doesnt look all that great anyways, i'm just hoping for free drinks in the LOUNGE.. :rotfl2:

I am simply replying so that I get any future responses to this thread. I am looking forward to hearing what recent visitors have to say about Wishes viewing for AAA Members or Diamond Card holders, or AAA Package bookers...
