AAA vs. E-mail discount

FYI - for those who booked through AAA and then received the recent e-mail discount - I researched it this morning and with the e-mail code, my trip is $135 less than my AAA trip. We have 2 GV rooms at Poly in mid-December w/ PH tix. No dining. While ME would be included with the AAA package, we aren't even using it as I don't trust it.

So, if you booked through AAA and aren't interested in ME and you got the e-mail, you may want to investigate using the e-mail code instead. It seems to work with Value, Mod and Deluxe resorts.

Magical Express is available to anyone staying in a Disney owned resort, even with a deeply discounted rate. There have been virtually no complaints since the first week of service.

Not sure I'd trust the opinion of someone who know so little about the service.

It is my understanding that Magical Express is not available to those who book room only - only to those who book Magic Your Way packages. The e-mail discount released is room only. If that is wrong, and ME is available to those who book room only, and I don't believe it is, my apologies. We are not using it simply because we get in so late at night we may not get our luggage until the wee hours of the morning and I have two small children, one with special medical needs, to look after.

Why I need to be insulted by someone on this board for a post in which I am trying to relay information that could possibly save people money is beyond me. Particularly in a DISNEY chat room. I wish you a non-Disney day.

Actually, Marthasor, ME is available to anyone staying at a WDW resort, whether you have a package or not. I am very Type A control freak :teeth: and I am even going to trust ME this trip. ;) I've heard and read nothing but good about it. Can't we all just get along :grouphug:

I'm happy to hear that for those who would like to take advantage of the service and are booking room only. It's a nice service for Disney to offer, although, due to my family's special circumstances, I do not feel comfortable using it.

The point of my original post was to inform those with AAA reservations who may have also gotten the e-mail that they may want to check out the prices with the e-mail PIN to see if they could save some more money as I did. I posted it in the spirit of the DIS boards.

My point was not to ME bash or get bashed in the process and was quite honestly shocked to get a response like that. It was, in my opinion, really rude and something I have never before experienced on this board.

I had to reread that post because I couldn't believe that someone would be that rude!!! Yikes, that person must have been having a bad day or something!

Thanks for posting that info, I wish I could get an email with discount codes, maybe then we could upgrade our hotel choice!!! You lucky duck!!
I'll just have to keep my fingers crossed ;-)

Prehaps I could of worded my reply better but I get very annoyed with posters who post information which is factually incorrect. Other people make make plans based on the wrong information. DME is available to anyone staying at a Disney owned resort. That includes DVC members, people renting points and room only guests staying with deep discounts.

You said you don't trust DME. It may not fit your famlies circumstances but that doesn't mean DME is "untrustworthy". There are very few complaints on the transportation board. DME guests get to their resort, on average, 70 minutes after their flight lands. DME guests get picked up in time to make their flight.

Some guests prefer a later pickup for their return to MCO, a grocery stop or even the personal service of a towncar company. Other guests like the flexibility of a rental car. All good reasons to skip DME but really not a matter of trust.

I'm sorry if my post was little "over the top" but you have wrong information about DME and implied the service is not trustworthy without giving any reasons. Sounds rude to me.

Ok... getting back to the original post... I'm glad to hear that you were able to the PIN to your existing Poly ressie. I also have a reservation at the Poly with a AAA discount (room only) and have forward the PIN to my TA to try to take advantage of additional savings!

I'm hoping!!!! to hear back from her soon. These poor Disney TA's must have to work so much harder because of all of us! :teeth:

I hope your AAA TA has good news for you! Mine did - she got back to me today and was able to apply the code to our existing AAA reservation!!

I know - I keep apologizing to my AAA TA because I have been bugging her about these codes at least once daily since they have come out and since the e-mail came out. I am going to send her a little something - so far she has saved me about $530 so I think I can afford a little gift of some sort!!

Do you own stock in Disney or have some sort of financial stake in DME? You have completely missed the point of this entire thread. Thank you for informing all of us that DME is available to ALL Disney resort guests - that is very valuable information and I certainly appreciate knowing that now. You obviously have good information about WDW. Why not share it with us instead of spitting it in our faces. The way you phrase your posts is so contrary to the spirit of Disney and of these boards that it actually shocks me that you like Disney. It appears that what you really like is to maintain the appearance that you know more than everyone else and when someone makes a mistake, that is your opportunity to prove you are more Disney-than-thou. It is my experience that even Disney CM's and other TA's make mistakes when answering guests questions or providing information about the resorts, reservations, restaurants - that must drive you bonkers! You are getting bent out of shape over one person's perception of a Disney resort perk. A DISNEY resort perk. This is not Katrina. This is not the war in Iraq. It is DISNEY. A place to share and experience a little bit of magic with our families, our friends and our fellow inhabitants on this planet who have the good fortune to be able to visit such a wonderful place - a place that offers a little respite from the true stresses of our daily lives and of our world. If THIS, an honest mistake and a person's perception of a DISNEY resort perk causes you stress, annoyance and frustration, I truly wish you peace in your life.
