AAA to AP Rates

I was just wondering if it was possible once my trip comes closer, is it possible to switch from my AAA rate to my AP (only if the rate is better)? Has anyone done this?

The reservations that I currently have are through my AAA office and they are room only. The official AAA rate has not come out for January but should be out by the end of June early July. Do AP's usually come closer to your chosen month (I'm very new to the AP).

I can tell you that I have booked AAA rate by calling Disney itself (I have never done it through a AAA office) and IF an AP rate became available I would just call Disney & tell them that I wanted to modify my reservation using the AP code & they would make the adjustment with no problem. I am not sure how the AAA office would handle this for you. You might want to give them a call back & find out. If a AP rate does come out it will be alot closer, usually a month or 2 before you say you are going (January).

I did this last fall. AAA room only to AP discount room only. I couldn't just shift it--I had to cancel one, and book the other, and mine was thru WDW. I don't know how it would be thru AAA. The AAA room discount was totally refundable up to, I think, 3 days before the trip, tho, so that gave me time to see what the APs were and decide.
