Hi there- I've tried to find a more recent answer to this question but have been unable to find one, and am unsure since the reopening if things have changed. I'm about ready to buy AAA 3 day 1 park tickets with a discount of $30 each from Disney website prices. I know some AAA's you have to go into the office but when I log in it looks like I'm able to order online and it will be delivered by email. My question is: has anyone recently purchased this way and had any problem with adding it to their Disney account and booking a park reservation? Do you know if I'm able to upgrade these tickets onsite if we want to add a day/ change to park hoppers? thank you for any thoughts on this!

It won't be an issue to link them, but just know that $30 discount shrinks to about $15 after AAA applies sales tax.

I don't believe any tickets can currently be upgraded once they are purchased. Someone recently posted that was a procedural change due to the reservation system.

I don't have the answer to either of your questions, but I have recent experience shopping for Disneyland tickets on AAA. It looked like I was going to save an amazing $60 per ticket compared to the Disney website. However, when I got to the final payment page, there was a service fee! (No sales tax where I live.) I ended up buying on Undercover Tourist because it ended up being cheaper than AAA due to that sneaky AAA fee.
I got my e-tickets from Undercover Tourist right away and had no problem linking them on the Disney app and making park reservations.

Hope you find a great deal on tickets & have a magical trip!

I don’t believe theme park tickets are subject to California sales tax. I saw this in a sales tax guide.

It's a fee, apparently. It's labeled "taxes and fees" when you go checkout.
