AAA Rates...

Can someone fill me in on the AAA rates? We were members years ago and never did use our membership for Disney savings. It didn't seem like it was paying to have the membership so we canceled. Anyhow, I was considering getting it again in order to save on our upcoming Disney trip. Is it really worth the savings? Thanks for the help!

we just joined aaa just for the disney discount we are staying at a mod resort in feb. we saved $27 per night per room and we booked 2 rooms for 4 nights. so we saved over 200 dollars. we thought it was worth the price of the membership. hope this helps

MouseSavers has a list of the typical discounts at http://www.mousesavers.com/disneyresorts.html#AAA.

You can get a 10 to 20 percent discount on the room depending on time of year and the resort class.

Check out the AAA website. You can get an idea of how much the discount will be and you don't have to be a member.

The website does stress you need your card when you check in!

As much as we go to WDW our membership has always paid for itself. We have also used our AAA card for discounts at Universal, as well. Our son has used the road side assistance on several occasions so it has been well worth the cost of membership.

How much is a AAA membership?? Does it cover only one person in the family or does it cover every one? Do I only need one person to join to get the discounts??

I believe prices vary, but I think we pay around $65 a year for our family (2 drivers).

We pay 45 for 2 drivers. I originaly got it for discounts etc. The first month I had it I used the road service twice on my van!! So, I love it with or without the possible discounts. By the way, you get a really nice discount at some resorts not Disney (ie Universal) and others that they have a special relationship with.

Another great perk of AAA membership is the TripTix they can make for you if you're driving. We always drive to WDW and although we've been so many times we can drive there without the assistance of a map, we always get them to make us a Triptix. It is a handy, spiral bound map that marks the construction, speed traps, etc.... along the way. We have three kids, so it helps to know where the rest areas are along the way and the map shows those as well as which exits have Gas, Food, or Lodging. It's probably not worth the membership dues just for this service - but it's a nice perk if you plan on using AAA.
