AAA rates for Christmas

Thinking of planning a trip over Christmas break (or maybe Thanksgiving). Does AAA members get discounts for those holiday weeks?

Unless you're talking about 2008, good luck. AAA generally does not have rates available during holiday weeks in any event

Usually any AAA member discounts end on 12/19 of any given year

And if you are doing the booking yourself and trying for a AAA code be sure to try as soon as new codes become available (may have begun already - check other threads). We tried early January 07 for our December 07 stay and there were none available (gone already). I called several times a month, every month through August 07 and none popped up. I even had the CMs check one day at a time and still none. I had much better luck using an AP discount when released. Subtracting the additional AP cost from our AP savings still got us a good deal even though we're only staying 7 nights (but that is not any guarantee; depends upon your room and dates).

And I always just go ahead and book the kind of room I want and have any discounts applied to that reservation; this has worked for me several times.
