AAA Rate to AP Rate?

Hi

My husband and I are going to Disney in April.
We will be spending most of the trip at a timeshare.

However, we added an additional night at the beginning of the trip at Pop Century. When I booked it about a week ago, the AP rates for April were not out yet. I was able to get a AAA rate and the total was approximately $95.

The AP rates have now come out so I called Disney and was able to get the same resort - Pop Century with the AP rate. My total is now approximately $84.

The difference of about $11 is a credit on the reservation. The cast member said when I check in at Pop Centure we can either leave the credit on the reservation against room charges or they can credit my credit card then.

I thought this was a little odd and was surprised he didn't just credit my American Express now for the difference.

Did anyone else ever have this experience? Did you encounter any issues when checking in at the resort with the credit? Just want to make sure this is standard procedure.

Thank you in advance.

We've always stayed more than 1 night, so the credit (from paying 1 night's AAA room rate and then changing the reservation to the lower AP rate once it came out) is fine with us and is just used to offset the remaining balance due.

Unless you are sure you are going to have some additional charges from incidental, I'd just call back and ask for the room rate credit to be put back on my card. Why should you overpay now?

Hi

Thank you for the information.

I asked how come he doesn't just credit my Amex now and he said this is the way they do it.

Since we're only talking about $11 I'm sure it can go towards breakfast or a snack in the food court.

I agree it's odd and don't understand either why I should overpay now.

Maybe I'll call again later and get a different person and ask them.

Thank you
Noreen
