I called today to get my AAA discount applied for RPR res for our trip in Jan. Two different nights, two seperate res.
The customer service agent I talked to told me I shouldn't go for AAA discount because the rates are higher now for that room and my rate now is cheaper than the new rate with AAA????? Why should it be based on the rate it is now?? I made the res back in October. I have never been told this before! Did she think I had to cancel the old reservation and get a whole new one?
I hope it was just because she is new and doesn't know better, or has the policy been changed?
The room was upgraded at booking because I'm Lowes First member.I told her my original room was not a water view, just a standard view that was upgraded. She put me on hold to talk to her superviser, came back and told me my original rate would be lower by $16.40.

Was I right or was she?

My original rate was rack rate, I asked at the time of booking for AAA rates but they weren't out yet.

It all worked out in the end, after talking to her superviser, my original rack rate of $209 for a standard view room was lowered to $192 by the AAA discount.
But I'm still upgraded to a water view room.

I think the reservation agent was confused as to how to apply a AAA discount to an existing res.

I was concerned the policy of applying AAA rates had changed.

My trip is next month toward the end of Jan, bookending a DVC stay at WDW.
I can't wait to see the new decor!

Sounds like the problem....good thing you have the DIS to help you out :thumbsup2

20 people telling you 1 thing vs. 1 of her....yeah...good thing for us ;)
