Ok, I need some help! For the past 2 yrs we have gone to WDW for a week and stayed at GF.We get park hopper tix with the water park option, do lots of table service meals and have a truly magical time!BUT.... we spend upwards of $8,000 (total). So this year I'm trying to research my best options. I know that if I book through AAA I have to book hotel only to get a discout right? But do they also discounts tix? Or, maybe I should just buy 1 AP. What is the room discount for an AP? Sorry so many questions, but in the past we have just booked through Disney w/o looking for discounts but its getting expensive!!!!!!!!!

AP discounts aren't always available, but last time we went to the Polynesian, we were able to save about 40% on our room with the AP. You can also buy the DDE card to save 20% on meals at specified restaurants, if you have an AP. Definitely worth looking into.

:rotfl2: you could try picking a less pricey resort to stay in next visit. we were trying to decide if we want to stay at pop century again or spend an extra $460 for a moderate resort just for the hot tub. we finally decided on the value resort, since we're only there to shower and sleep, and we're going to take the back stage tour with the $$$ we saved on the resort. :cheer2: :woohoo: :yay:

I booked the whole package through AAA..room, meals, tickets...and did save about $200. Now we are going for 5 days in March at CSR, so I am not sure what your saving would be...but the one draw back I found was that you lose control of your reservation. If I want to request a certain room location, I couldn't do it because AAA "owns" the reservation. I had to call my TA and hope that she does it. I also could not call and make payment...had to call TA and she made payment. Also, you can't access you ressie from the wdw site...because it is a AAA ressie. Now..I didn't know any of this prior to the ressie...so it was based on saving the $$$. In hindsight...was it worth...I think so because the only thing that bothers me is the room request, and I will continue to check to make sure it has been done. I did make all my own ADRs..which was okay with me...it is a controll thing I guess!

If you want a Room-Only AAA discount you may book direct with Disney (tell them you want the AAA rate) or use AAA agent or AAA online.

If you want a AAA discounted package then you book through AAA.

Their travel discounts, ticket discounts, restaurants, shopping, tows etc more than pay our annual member fees.
