Sorry if this has been asked before. Is it worth joining AAA to get a room discount? And how do you go about using AAA. Is it only good for room only? You can still get the tickets and dining plan seperate, right? And what if a package deal comes out for January (when we are going) like the one they have now...can you still use it?

Have had about 4 years, and why we haven't always had I don't know. We have saved way more that the cost every single year. Last trip at Disney it took about $15 a night off of a room only reservation at POP. We use it every where we go often getting discounts, plus free parking and sometimes meals included. My DH even uses it to help with his business travel. We have gotten discounts at restaurants, stores and attractions. Got great price on 15 mo passes to Universal. They do offer AAA packages that you have to book with AAA, but I was able to get my room only discount direct with Disney. If you want to add on to the room only discount you should call Disney. When you book AAA online with AAA, you can't work with Disney to add on, or at least that has been my experience. We have even used the tow service a few times. Go to w.aaa.com and see what they offer in your area for deals, different regions offer different specials.

I was not a member of AAA until about a month ago. It made such a difference on the price. Save a couple hundred. The rooms held for AAA rates go fast so I would call and ask them to check rates for you and if you save join while you are on the phone..simple.

If you book a AAA rate for Disney, it is room only discount. It is my understanding that you can't add the dining plan to a AAA discount room unless it is booked through AAA. If you want to add Dining or a package, you must book through AAA. The room is still the only part normally discounted, I think. And yes, if a code comes out, you can call your AAA agent and have them apply the code to your reservation if rooms at the code rate are available - you get the discount code applied instead of the AAA discount. We just did this with the Disney package discount. I saw the discount on this site and called AAA immediately and asked them to apply the discount. It was not a problem.
