AAA passport plus worth it?

Can anyone tell me if they have purchased the passport plus passes from AAA, and if so, is it worth it? This will cost us $16 more per ticket, so $96 total, than if we buy them through ARES like we were planning. I don't know exactly what discounts we would get with the Diamond card, and what shows you get preferred seating to. The lady I talked to at AAA was very lacking in details, and couldn't answer these questions for me. :confused3 She only focused on the free parking, which we won't need since we aren't even renting a car. I think I've heard that the preferred seating is for Aladdin, but what other shows? Is the seating worth the extra, and can you show up later? Do the discounts save on dining?

Any help would be appreciated...thank you all!!! :disrocks:

This is the info my AAA agent sent me concerning our Sept 2009 trip (so it could be old)...
The Preferred seating show's are: : Aladdin a musical spectacular, Muppet Vision 3D, It's tough to be a Bug, Animation Academy.

I remember our Diamond card got us some discount or freebie at the Rainforest Cafe (can't be combined with any other coupons) and I think we got a discount at Build a Bear. It wasn't a big plus for us -- we mainly wanted the parking and Toontown Parade admission.

Also, the Diamond card was separate from the priority seating stuff. The diamond card came as a fold up little card smaller than a credit card. The priority seating voucher came in another pamplet which also included the free lanyard card and the toontown admission card -- these were about the size of a concert/sports ticket. So our group received only 1 diamond card and then we each (4 tickets people) received the voucher pamphlet. Also, our free parking was printed in text on the back of our parkhopper ticket cards.

My friend called AAA and asked if they were offering the kids price special. They are and it comes with free parking, a bunch of coupons and preferred seating to several shows including Aladdin.

Just a note, and someone correct me if I am wrong, but I believe the Toontown Morning vouchers come as part of a package only, not as part of the "passport plus" tickets.

We ordered the Passport Plus package direct from Disney and for an extra $12 per person we got the preferred seating, lanyard/pin, plastic tickets(each with a different character photograph)and nice luggage tags.

Is this something that you can purchase separately from a hotel package? I don't see this listed on the website. If it can be combined with thw kid's rate special promotion, I think I would do for this for our April trip.

Yes, we ordered it direct with the Walt Disney Travel Company. The number to call is, (714) 520-5060 and ask for the passport plus package. Make sure to mention you want the add-on luggage tag/lanyards with the package. You will get the promotional price for the tickets. We paid approx $185 per ticket(this included a shipping charge). The regular prepurchase price online was $173 each.

Thanks for your responses, everyone! :goodvibes We are polling the group to see if it is worth it. The preferred seating at the shows might be, but does anyone know where the seats are, and if they are really better?

We only used the Aladdin PS and what it got you was early admission so the priority seating people were able to get first pick of the seats. It isn't actually a separate set of reserved seats.

Well that would be nice, to go in and have your pick. Although, I've never found myself in a seat that I didn't like for that show. Thank you for the responses all! :goodvibes

Just wondering if there is any updated information on the Passport Plus ticket from AAA, or is the 2010 information is still current ...
